- The banner will feature Sumeru only 4-Star characters as well as Sumeru weapons
- The weapon banner and it’s pity system works the same as the character banner, with 90 Wishes to get a 5-Star Weapon
I’m so excited for Genshin Impact Version 6.0! The first phase is kicking off on September 10th, 2025, and it’s bringing a new Chronicled Wish Banner. It looks like the featured 5-star characters will all be from Sumeru, which is awesome!
Genshin Impact Version 6.0 Chronicled Banner Details
With the “Roving Chalice of Dewgrass” Wish event, you can choose which 5-star character you’d like to try and get. The 5-star characters featured in this event are:
If you don’t get the character you want when trying for a limited banner, you’ll receive a different featured character or weapon. For example, if you’re hoping for Cyno, losing the 50/50 means you’ll get one of the other available featured characters or weapons, but not Cyno.
You’ll also gain 1 Fate point. This guarantees your next 5-star character will be Cyno. Just remember that Fate points aren’t saved for later. Also, the banners only offer 4-star characters from Sumeru.
Genshin Impact Version 6.0 Chronicled Banner: Who Should You Pull
1. Nilou
Nilou is the star of this banner, but she’s not essential. She really shines when paired with other Lauma characters – her teams aren’t very effective without that synergy. While she’s the best character to pull on this banner, you don’t necessarily *need* her.
Okay, so when it comes to tackling the Abyss, Nahida in a Burgeon team is pretty strong, but honestly, you can clear even tough challenges like the Stygian Onslaught with just four-star characters. That means she’s not *totally* necessary. And her constellations? Most of them don’t really add much. C2 is the only one that makes a big difference, and now that she’s on the constellation selector, getting to C1 is really where you want to stop – after that, investing in more constellations just doesn’t seem worth it.
Nilou isn’t a game-changing character, and future characters will likely be even better. If you enjoy playing as Nilou, feel free to get her, but she isn’t essential for top-level competitive play.
2. Alhaitham
Alhaitham is a bit of a mixed bag. He’s not bad, but he’s not top-tier either. While his damage output is higher than some characters, he struggles because there aren’t many good supports specifically for his playstyle, which relies on the Quicken reaction. Lauma was the first support character to really help him, even though her abilities weren’t originally designed for Quicken teams – her ability to reduce enemy resistance just happens to work well with his kit. He could become more popular in the future, but currently, he’s just decent.
3. Cyno
Cyno is a unique character, especially considering his design was built around the Dendro element. With recent additions like Lauma and Ineffa, Dendro teams have become significantly stronger, which benefits Cyno quite a bit. While he doesn’t single-handedly win games, you could replace him with another Electro character and get comparable performance. However, his abilities work really well within Dendro team compositions. So, he’s not essential to pull on the 2025 Chronicle Wish banner, but if you enjoy playing as Cyno, he’s a reliable pick that will synergize well with your Dendro team.
4. Dehya
Dehya isn’t very strong, even when fully leveled up. While some team compositions have tried to help her, her damage output remains low. She can offer some defensive benefits, like reducing damage taken and preventing interruptions, but these effects don’t last long enough to be truly impactful without extra shields or healing. Her damage numbers are quite poor, and even her first constellation doesn’t improve them much. Applying elemental effects and supporting reactions like Burgeon is also slow, which can disrupt team rotations. She can be useful in specific situations, but she’s not worth actively trying to get through the Chronicle Wish banner. However, if you happen to get her while wishing for another character, it’s not a complete loss – her second constellation improves her uptime slightly, and her defensive abilities can be helpful in the right team.
5. Tighnari
Tighnari isn’t as powerful as many people think, and he doesn’t deal a lot of damage, even in teams designed to maximize his potential. He typically contributes around 30% or less of the team’s total damage output. His damage relies heavily on his attack stat, and while he has a way to indirectly boost elemental mastery, it isn’t enough to make him a truly strong carry. He was reasonably balanced when the Sumeru region first came out, but now that team damage ceilings are higher, he falls behind. Since he’s a standard character, you can obtain him over time simply by losing the 50/50 chance for other characters or by using the constellation selector, so it’s generally not worth spending your primogems trying to get him specifically.
He’s not very strong until you fully upgrade him, and even then, he’s only average – about as useful as a character focused on supporting a Dendro damage dealer. His new weapon is okay because it boosts his Elemental Mastery, but it’s not a significant improvement if you already have a powerful 5-star bow. Generally, the new weapons from Sumeru weren’t particularly impressive. Unless you’re a big fan, it’s probably best to skip wishing for him on the current banner.
6. Wanderer
Wanderer isn’t effective as a main damage dealer. He consistently underperforms in teams built around strong carries. While he can be boosted by specific team compositions and equipment, those setups actually outperform him taking the carry role himself. He hasn’t been a strong character since his release and hasn’t received significant improvements. As the game gets new, more powerful characters, Wanderer has fallen even further behind – he’s now less useful than some 4-star options. If you enjoy playing Wanderer, you’re hoping for future updates or characters to change how carries work. Otherwise, he isn’t a worthwhile investment.
Is the Chronicled Banner worth it
This Chronicle Wish banner is surprisingly decent, mainly because Nilou is a strong and currently useful character. If you enjoy playing Nilou and building teams around her, it’s worth considering pulling for her, but her success relies heavily on having Lauma. Without Lauma, Nilou-based teams struggle, and she might become less valuable if the game introduces even stronger characters or content focused on single-target Bloom reactions. The other characters on the banner are fairly specialized or not very impactful, so you likely won’t invest in them unless you’re a big fan. While it’s not a bad Chronicle Wish banner overall, remember it *is* a Chronicle Wish, so don’t expect too much. Pull for Nilou if you want her, but feel free to skip if she doesn’t appeal to you.
