Genshin Impact Version 5.6 Chronicled Banner Details
During the “Thunder Rends the Plains on High” event, you have the freedom to choose and assign a path for any of your preferred 5-star characters. Exclusive to this event, the following 5-star characters can be chosen:
This way, the sentence is more straightforward and easier to understand, while still conveying the same information.
In case players fail the 50/50 draw, they’ll be awarded one of the characters being rate-upped, excluding the character they initially selected. To illustrate: If you opt for Ayaka but lose the 50/50 roll, you’ll receive any other featured character apart from Ayaka. However, you will still earn 1 Fate point in such a scenario.
With that being said, your next top rating will undoubtedly be Ayaka. Just remember, Fate Points don’t accumulate and are only used for the current banner draw. Also, please note that only 4-star characters from Inazuma can appear on these banners, including Kuki Shinobu, Kirara, Shikanoin Heizou, Kujou Sara, Gorou, Sayu, and Thoma.
Genshin Impact Version 5.6 Chronicled Banner: Who Should You Pull
1. Kaedehara Kazuha
Kazuha Kaedehara is simply fantastic, offering immense utility throughout the game. He’s capable of gathering enemies, boosting elemental abilities, weakening resistances, and significantly enhancing your entire team. His versatility allows him to excel in various team compositions such as Hydro, Pyro, Electro, Cryo, among others.

In my opinion, he’s arguably the most valuable character on your banner if you prioritize long-term worth. However, if your teams don’t require him or you mainly utilize characters who don’t derive significant benefits from him, then he might not be indispensable for you. Nevertheless, I believe he remains a top-notch addition and is still relevant in the current meta, despite the emergence of newer support characters.
2. Kamisato Ayaka
Ayaka stands out among my preferred Cryo characters, particularly for those who favor freeze-based teams. As a primary DPS, she dishes out substantial damage, but it’s when enemies can be frozen that she truly excels. Consequently, in battles against bosses or non-freezable foes, her effectiveness diminishes somewhat.
With the introduction of the new character, Escoffier, freeze teams will experience a significant boost. Escoffier has the ability to decrease enemy resistance to Cryo and Hydro elements, provide healing, and dish out Cryo damage even when not actively in battle. This makes her an ideal companion for Ayaka, as she can effectively support her during combat.
If you’re considering assembling a freeze team and appreciate Ayaka’s aesthetic, this could be an excellent opportunity to back her up. However, be aware that her burst ability can be tricky; it requires precise timing or else it might miss, which can be slightly frustrating. Nevertheless, she seems like a robust choice if you prefer that playstyle.
3. Sangonomiya Kokomi
Kokomi is one of my go-to characters, I must admit. I enjoy playing her quite a bit due to her exceptional healing abilities and her constant application of Hydro. However, she’s not as powerful in the current meta as she once was, given that we have numerous highly effective healers available now.
If you’re looking for a relaxed and versatile healer who excels in both Bloom and Mono Hydro teams, she remains an excellent choice. However, due to the presence of Escoffier, I’ve been using her less frequently in Freeze teams.
4. Kamisato Ayato
Currently, Ayato is somewhat lackluster for me. Previously, I admired him more when there were fewer Hydro characters available. He performs decent damage and assists with reactions, but since Neuvillette has emerged and excels in numerous aspects, Ayato seems less effective for me. However, he’s still functional, having helped me conquer Abyss before. I wouldn’t necessarily advise using him unless you are drawn to his character or playstyle specifically.
5. Yae Miko
Yae Miko is quite intriguing. She’s an Electro character that can be utilized both on and off the battlefield, though I find she performs best when played on-field due to the need for precise use of her abilities. She can fit well into a variety of team compositions such as Dendro or Overload teams.

To put it another way, if you’ve got a C6 Fischl or similar characters who specialize in Electro support, you might find her redundant since other Electro supports could offer more in certain situations. However, I must say, her style is appealing and she can be quite entertaining if you appreciate that particular gameplay style.
6. Chiori
Chiori is quite appealing if you’re a fan of Geo teams. She primarily functions as a sub-DPS, performing optimally when paired with another Geo character or a Geo structure within the team. While she may not excel in any particular team, her adaptability allows her to seamlessly fit into various team compositions. I appreciate that she can be utilized effectively with characters such as Navia or Zhongli, and she remains effective regardless. However, if Geo-related elements don’t interest you, she might not be a valuable addition to your team.
7. Yoimiya
Yoimiya is a character that you might consider pulling only if you’re particularly fond of her. She primarily excels in dealing single-target damage, which can be useful in certain situations, but other Pyro characters tend to outperform her, especially when paired with newer support characters. While she’s still playable, she doesn’t quite fit into the current meta as much as characters like Arlecchino or Lyney do. To me, those other characters seem more appealing compared to Yoimiya.
8. Arataki Itto

In simpler terms, Itto is alright, but he’s not exceptional. He performs well when equipped and supported properly, especially with Gorou, but other damage dealers seem stronger or more adaptable. He’s quite specific to Geo fans, so if you don’t have a strong interest in Geo or the right team composition for him, you might not find him particularly useful.
Is the Chronicled Banner worth it
Absolutely, Indeed, that sums up all the characters depicted on the narrative banner. Some, such as Kazuha and Aayaka (particularly with Escoffier), offer a balance of agility and strength, while others like Itto or Yoimiya are more specialized and often preferred by those who appreciate them personally. Ultimately, it’s about choosing characters that you enjoy playing and that complement your existing teams.
