Genshin Impact Version 5.5 Phase 2 Character and Weapon Banners: Should you go for Xilonen or Venti

Story Highlights

  • Xilonen is a 5-star Geo Sword character from Natlan, specializing in DEF-scaling damage, elemental resistance shredding, and team-wide buffs
  • Venti is a 5-star Anemo Bow character in Genshin Impact, specializing in crowd control (CC), energy regeneration, and Swirl reactions
  • It’s better to go for Xilonen as she’s currently the best support in the game!

Starting from April 17th, 2025, I’ll be diving back into the world of Teyvat as Version 5.5 Phase 2 goes live! For about three weeks until May 6th, 2025, I’ll have a chance to team up with two beloved 5-star characters who are making a comeback in a joint banner! Can’t wait to see what adventures await me this time around!

Venti is a five-star character who wields an Anemo Bow, excelling in managing crowds, recharging energy, and triggering Swirl effects. This makes him an exceptional support for situations requiring area-of-effect performance.

  • Best Crowd Control – His Burst trivializes fights against small/medium enemies.
  • Energy Battery – Helps the team spam their Bursts more often.
  • Swirl Enabler – Works amazingly in Freeze, Electro-Charged, and Melt/Vaporize teams.
  • Low Investment – Doesn’t need high talent levels to be effective (focus on Burst).
  • Exploration King – His Skill helps reach high places, and passives reduce stamina costs.

Xilonen is a highly-rated character with a 5-star Geo Sword, known for her ability to scale damage in defense, shred elemental resistance, and grant team-wide buffs by utilizing her unique Nightsoul mechanic. She thrives as a versatile DPS/support character, offering agility, Geo infusion, and party-wide utility tailored to the composition of your team.

  • Flexible Role – Works as DPS, support, or hybrid due to DEF scaling.
  • Elemental RES Shred – Samplers weaken enemies for team DPS.
  • Team Buffs – C2 provides massive party-wide buffs based on elements.
  • Healing Utility – Burst can heal if team has ≥2 elemental Samplers.
  • Exploration Boost – Faster movement, no-climb stamina drain in Natlan.
  • Geo Infusion – Cannot be overridden, making her reliable in reactions.

Why you should go for Venti or Xilonen in Genshin Impact Version 5.5

If you prioritize crowd management, energy recharge, and support with Anemo, Venti is one of the top options in the game. His Elemental Burst easily gathers enemies, simplifying battles in area-of-effect situations. Moreover, his Swirl reactions enhance your team’s damage output. Venti shines particularly well in Freeze, Taser, and reaction-based teams, making him a key component for Spiral Abyss and open-world content.

He consistently offers energy refunds to his team, minimizing the need for heavy Energy Recharge construction. However, his performance weakens against tough or boss enemies that are resistant to crowd control. In contrast to other Anemo support characters like Kazuha and Sucrose, Venti excels more in area-of-effect grouping rather than directly boosting damage. This makes him a great choice for players who value controlling mobs over amplifying raw damage.

Contrarily, Xilonen is proficient with the Geo Sword, exhibiting a unique combination of damage dealing and support capabilities. She amplifies her power based on Defense and provides elemental resistance reduction, team buffs, and healing abilities. Her Nightsoul mechanic boosts mobility and adjusts to various team configurations, positioning her as a versatile choice for both Geo-focused teams and those with a mix of elements.

She excels in single-element teams, such as those including Itto or Albedo. At Constellation Level 2, she offers elemental buffs, enhancing Critical Rate, Attack, Health, or Energy depending on the party’s elements. Her Burst can heal when correctly configured, offering survivability without requiring a dedicated healer. However, she faces competition from Zhongli (who provides shielding) and Albedo (off-field Geo DPS). Thus, her worth lies in whether you require a versatile Geo unit with team utility.
