As a seasoned Genshin Impact player with over 2000 hours under my belt, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming Version 5.0 Phase 1 banners! The prospect of adding Mualani and Kazuha to my roster, along with the new weapon Surf’s Up, is simply mouthwatering.

In the upcoming maintenance on August 28th, 2024, the banners for Genshin Impact’s Version 5.0 Phase 1 will be activated. These banners will remain active until September 17th, 2024, at 17:59 server time. The banners will showcase a new 4-star character, a new 5-star character, and a new 5-star weapon.

This advertisement showcases the introduction of the initial appearance of the five-star character, “Splish-Splash Wavechaser” Mualani, who specializes in hydro and catalyst abilities. Additionally, this banner presents the debut of a newly introduced four-star character, “Mottled Gold Yet Unsmelted” Kachina, who wields geo powers with polearm proficiency. This character was unveiled during the Natlan preview teaser.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Mualani will be joined by four exceptional characters during their upcoming appearance: “Mottled Gold Yet Unsmelted” Kachina (geomancer/polearm), “Blazing Riff” Xinyan (pyro/claymore), and “Trial by Fire” Bennett (pyro/sword). Notably, these characters, excluding Kachina, are consistently available in the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation, sans any boosted drop rates. The elusive Kachina will become accessible within the same wish after version 5.0 is released.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but be thrilled about the return for the fourth time of “Scarlet Leaves Pursue Wild Waves” Kaedehara Kazuha, my favorite anemo/sword character, which was first introduced in Version 1.6! Additionally, this banner marks the grand entrance of a new 4* character named “Mottled Gold Yet Unsmelted” Kachina (geo/polearm), who was previously teased during the Natlan preview. I can hardly wait to get my hands on these exciting additions to my team!

In the upcoming version, Kazuha will have four 4-star characters joining him: “Mottled Gold Yet Unsmelted” Kachina (geomancer/polearm), “Blazing Riff” Xinyan (pyro/claymore), and “Trial by Fire” Bennett (pyro/sword). These three characters, except Kachina, are always accessible in the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation. The boosted drop rates only apply to other characters. Kachina will be added to the Standard Wish – Wanderlust Invocation after version 5.0 is released.

As a longtime player of this game, I must say that I am genuinely excited about the latest banner introduction – the new 5* weapon “Surf’s Up (catalyst)” which is signature for Mualani. I have always admired Mualani’s abilities and this weapon seems like it could elevate her gameplay to a whole new level.

This sign showcases the 4-star weapons: Favonius Sword, Favonius Greatsword, Dragon’s Bane, Sacrificial Fragments, and The Stringless. Each one of these items will experience a significant increase in their drop rate.

Why you should go for Mualani or Kazuha in Genshin Impact Version 5.0

Mualani is the debut 5-star character from the realm of Natlan, offering an innovative and distinct gameplay approach. Additionally, she comes with a shark that can serve as a mount for traversing the overworld and water surfaces. The ease of exploration in the overworld by itself could be a compelling reason to summon her, but it’s suggested you hold off for a few days to determine if she’s worth the effort.

Kazuha has consistently been an elite buffer for any elemental team, and it’s likely he’ll continue in this role. Pulling for Kazuha, even his constellations up to C2, is usually a wise choice. In the group of 4-star characters, Kachina will be available for free by advancing through the Archon Quest. Bennett is another top-tier ATK booster and healer. Xinyan, unfortunately, is one of the worst characters in the game.

Regarding weapons, “Freedom Sworn” is an exceptional choice for Kazuha, and it could also work well in teams with Hyperbloom for Kuki Shinobu. The weapon known as “Surf’s Up” is specifically suited to Mualani, and no one else has yet found a better alternative for this weapon so far. Among the 4-star weapons, all except the “Favonius’s Greatsword” are excellent options for support characters.
