Durin is a dragon from the world of Simulanka, inspired by the original Durin and created by the witch Andersdotter of the Hexenzirkel. He uses his special ability to inflict area-of-effect fire damage.
Genshin Impact Durin Build Guide: Kit Explained
Durin is a unique character who functions as both a damage dealer and a support, much like Furina. Unlike other characters who fill similar roles, Durin offers two distinct ways to play. You can build him to deal a lot of damage himself, or focus on enhancing your team’s abilities, even if it means reducing his own damage output.
Durin’s initial form is the Principle of Purity. When active, it lowers enemy resistance by 20%. If you have Hexerei characters on your team, their passive ability will further increase this resistance reduction to 35%. You can activate the Principle of Purity by using Durin’s skill twice.
The Principle of Darkness is Durin’s second form. When he transforms, he doesn’t lower enemy resistance, but his attacks become much more powerful. If you have characters with the Hexerei ability, they’ll deal 70% more Vaporize and Melt damage. You activate this form by using Durin’s skill once, followed by a normal attack.
Durin’s damage and buff both multiply when you use Durin with Hexerei characters.

A great team for Durin is the Overload team, and it’s easy to build without spending a lot of resources. This team uses Durin’s Principle of Purity to make enemies more vulnerable, while Durin himself provides damage from off the field.
Our primary damage dealers will be Arlecchino, Varesa, Raiden Shogun, and Klee. Chevreuse will boost the team’s damage by lowering enemy resistance, increasing Pyro and Electro damage, and providing an ATK bonus, as well as healing. Fischl will help us activate the Hexerei buff and will also serve as an Electro attacker and secondary damage dealer.

This Neuvillette team is both enjoyable and powerful. We’ll be building Durin with a full Emphasis on HP, and using the Principle of Purity artifact set can maximize damage from Burgeon reactions. If you’d like to further boost Durin’s damage output, focus on the Principle of Darkness set instead. Neuvillette will be the main damage dealer, while Durin, Furina, and Lauma will provide buffs and additional damage.

This team focuses on dealing high damage with Mualani and Neuvillette as our primary damage dealers. Since Durin can’t lower enemy Hydro resistance, we’ll rely on the Principle of Darkness state to increase damage output. Sucrose will weaken enemies for Mualani and boost Durin’s damage, while Furina will provide buffs and act as a secondary damage dealer for Neuvillette. Xilonen or Kazuha will further buff Neuvillette’s damage.
