Story Highlights

  • HoYoverse teamed up with Ufotable, the team behind Demon Slayer series, for this anime project.
  • Officials confirmed the anime is still in active development with no major issues in Genshin FES 2026.

Genshin Impact, the popular game by HoYoverse, revealed plans for an anime series created with Ufotable back in September 2022. Now, it’s been confirmed that the anime is being developed without any problems and remains on schedule.

The Genshin Impact anime is coming and is it being planned as a long-term project

I, like many other fans, was excited when Genshin Impact announced an anime in 2022 with a great teaser. But after that, we didn’t hear anything for a long time, leading many of us to wonder if the project was having problems, particularly with the release of the new Demon Hunter movie.

The recent short trailer generated a lot of excitement, especially knowing it was created by Ufotable, the acclaimed Japanese animation studio behind Demon Slayer. Fortunately, the anime is on track, as confirmed at the Genshin FES 2026 event in Shanghai.

During a livestream on Bilibili, developer representative Aquaria announced that the anime is still being actively developed and is making good progress. They described it as a long-term project, and expect high quality due to the skill of both development teams.

Okay, so as someone who’s been into anime and gaming for ages, I’m seriously hyped for this! I don’t mind the wait at all if it means we get a really high-quality anime adaptation. I’ve got a lot of faith in both Ufotable and HoYoverse, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they come up with – I’m hoping for something amazing!
