Following pre-registration that began in January, the mobile tactical RPG Genesis War is now available for early access. It has soft-launched on Android and iOS in select regions, giving some players a chance to experience the game before its official worldwide release.

Genesis War brings terrain mechanics into play, with positioning and elemental advantages

Genesis War, created by LINE Games, revisits the world of Antaria from the classic game, The War of Genesis. The game centers on Princess Iyolin and her companions as they fight to restore their kingdom and discover the real reasons behind the conflict.

So, this game is a turn-based tactical RPG, which means battles aren’t about fast reflexes, but more about thinking things through. You really need to focus on where you move your characters, how the battlefield itself affects things, and exploiting enemy weaknesses. Basically, I drag my character into position, check out their stats to make sure I’m ready, and then hit start. It looks like the layout of the battlefield – the tiles – plays a big role too, which I figured out pretty quickly.

Gather a diverse team of heroes and create powerful combinations to take on challenging content. Beyond the main storyline, you can enjoy boss raids, player-versus-player battles, and explore tough levels.

If you’re a fan of this type of game and want to try it out, now’s a good time! However, since Genesis War is currently in limited release (soft launch), it’s only available on mobile devices for players in Canada, Australia, and Indonesia.
