Gene Simmons was spotted grocery shopping alone in Malibu on Thursday.

The KISS bassist sported a laid-back appearance, eschewing his usual theatrical hairstyle and heavy stage makeup during his outing.

But there appeared to be something off about his hair.

It seemed like the 75-year-old was wearing a black wig, but it moved back slightly, revealing his usual short beard.

On Reddit, people have offered their opinions about his hair, suggesting it seems as if a tent is perched upon his head and the jet-black coloring appears unnatural. They recommend adding highlights to make it look more authentic, given his financial means.

Then there was: ‘Why did he pick that wig?’

In my analysis, those marks around his hairline might have originated from temporary hair coloring rather than stubble. It’s also possible that he was experiencing an off day with his hair, given that he tied his dark tresses in a low ponytail.

The Detroit Rock City singer had several brown paper shopping bags and bright pink Gerbera daisies.

The sighting comes after the Love Gun singer’s feud with Carlos Santana resurfaced.

The disagreement began in 2009 as a result of Simmons expressing disapproval towards the older rock musician, who was 77 years old then, following Santana’s claim that KISS were not genuine musicians.

Santana stated that the individual isn’t a musician; instead, he’s an entertainer. In the context of Las Vegas, Kiss is entertainment, implying this person likely has little understanding of music. Hence, he wears all those accessories, according to Santana.

Santana stated through Far Out magazine, ‘A musician isn’t about wearing masks or makeup. So, the role of an entertainer differs from that of a musician.’

In an interview with Fox channel KVVU from Las Vegas, Gene said, ‘Now is when we should demonstrate to the young ones how the experienced handle things.’

Simmons was frustrated and voiced his displeasure, stating he’s grown tired of acts similar to Carlos Santana appearing distracted on stage, seemingly unaware it’s a rock show,” he exclaimed, urging them to leave the stage.

Simmons’ displeasure towards Santana stretches further back, as Gene found it hard to swallow the ease at which Santana excelled musically, given his rocky beginnings in his career, much like KISS experienced during their initial years.

The special fan can bring along one guest and take photos throughout the entire experience.

During the performance, Simmons plans to bring his temporary assistant up onto the stage and present them with a previously used bass guitar, which has been personally autographed by him.
