Gen V Reveals if Patrick Schwarzenegger Returns in Season 2

I was so excited when Gen V Season 2 dropped, and like everyone else, I immediately wondered if we’d see Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Golden Boy again. I mean, his character *did* die in Season 1, but you never know with these shows – maybe a resurrection or at least a glimpse in a flashback? Now that the first three episodes are out, we finally have our answer, and I have to say, I was really curious to find out what happened!

Here are the details on whether Golden Boy appears in Season 2 or not.

Why Patrick Schwarzenegger is not in Gen V Season 2

Patrick Schwarzenegger, who starred as Luke Riordan (also known as Golden Boy), won’t be in Season 2 of Gen V.

The first episode of Gen V Season 1 introduced Golden Boy as a well-liked and incredibly strong student at Godolkin University, also known as God U. He could control fire, had superhuman strength, and could fly. Despite taking his own life after killing Brink, Golden Boy remained a presence throughout the season through flashbacks and the recollections of other characters.

Fans were hoping that something similar would happen in Season 2 as well. Sadly, it doesn’t.

I recently learned from an interview with Screen Rant why Arnold Schwarzenegger won’t be back for Season 2 of *Gen V*. Apparently, the timing just didn’t work out – he was busy filming *The White Lotus* at the same time. He hasn’t ruled out a future appearance, though, hinting at a possible role in Season 3 or another season down the line. It’s a shame, but understandable given his schedule!

Even though it had been announced he wouldn’t be back, fans started speculating about the actor’s return after he shared a post about Gen V Season 2. He playfully hinted at a possible appearance by writing, “I’m not in this (or am I???) but it looks great!! Congrats to the Gen V team. Excited to watch!”

This was enough to get fans talking about whether he might be back for another season.

The first three episodes of Season 2 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 17, 2025, and Arnold Schwarzenegger was not featured in them. It’s currently unknown if he will appear in later episodes.
