Gemma Collins believes weight loss injections may have caused significant health problems after she lost three stone.
The 44-year-old TV star, featured in a recent Paddy Power gaming ad alongside Coleen Rooney and Danny Dyer, revealed to the Daily Mail that she suffered a gallbladder attack in August and is still taking medication for it months later.
Gemma recently shared that she lost enough weight to go from a size 26 to a size 20 in three months using Mounjaro injections, but she’s now using it less often.
Just before her trip to Cyprus to celebrate her partner Rami Hawash’s birthday, she suddenly collapsed with pain.
Concerned about potentially needing emergency room care, she received a visit from her doctor at home, who determined she had gallstones.
Gallstones are small, hard deposits that develop in the gallbladder. If these cause discomfort, the National Health Service says that gallbladder removal surgery may be necessary.

I was really interested to hear Gemma talk about how she’s been doing, and she mentioned she had a bit of a gallbladder issue. She wasn’t sure if it was connected to everything she’s been up to, and doctors say it *can* be related, but not necessarily. Because of it, she’s had to take things a little easier for a while, which I totally understand – health comes first!
We were planning a trip to celebrate Rami’s 50th birthday, but I was in terrible pain. I’d surprised him with a Ferrari driving experience for his birthday, and we were scheduled to fly out the next day.
I collapsed to the floor while he was running around the track. I immediately felt a sharp pain and realized I’d probably need to go to the emergency room.
I contacted my doctor, and he offered to come to my home and do a scan. The scan revealed I had gallstones.
I’m not entirely sure about gallstones, though. They’re actually quite common, and problems with them can happen unexpectedly at any time.
‘You know, I was in such pain, but I’ve got the medication at the minute that’s helping me.
‘At the time, it was agonising and I thought I’m, I’m not gonna make it to Cyprus.
Honestly, the doctors have been wonderful, and thankfully they’ve given me something to manage the pain. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting to see how things develop and how I continue to feel.

Although Gemma was happy to show off her weight loss, she was also experiencing a recent side effect from the injections.
Gemma worried that losing weight made her appear aged, and she openly discussed her noticeable wrinkles in an Instagram post.
She was completely baffled by what had happened, saying it had come on suddenly overnight. It had been a full year since her last cosmetic procedure.
I’m not sure if it’s related to my weight loss, but I haven’t experienced the facial changes some people get with Ozempic yet – though I wouldn’t mind if I did!
As someone who’s always had a bit of fullness in my face, I’m really focused on enhancing what I *do* love – like the area around my eyes. I want to feel like *me*, just a more polished version. But honestly, what I’m seeing right now just doesn’t feel quite right. It’s about finding that balance between improvement and staying true to my natural look, and we’re not quite there yet.
I’m 44 and completely shocked by how bad things have become. I never thought it would get this difficult.
Gemma appears with Danny Dyer, Peter Crouch, and Coleen Rooney in a new PaddyPower gaming ad.
The new ad, made by BBH London, is designed to feel like a glamorous and exciting Hollywood movie, complete with a bit of playful trouble and plenty of famous faces. It will be released this Saturday, October 18th.
Oh my god, you will NOT believe this! Danny Dyer, OUR Danny Dyer, has totally transformed! Forget the Queen Vic, he’s swapped Walford for Vegas and he looks incredible! Seriously, he’s playing a casino boss now, and he’s absolutely *dripping* with cool. Paddy Power has created this amazing, over-the-top world for him, and he just owns it. He’s completely in his element, strutting around like the king he is! It’s the best thing ever, honestly!
He brings a straightforward and engaging personality to Paddy Power Games, inviting players into a wildly extravagant casino world filled with ‘games for everyone.’

The campaign takes place in a glamorous casino setting, filled with rich details like velvet tables and gold chips. It reimagines gaming as something exciting, fun, and full of life.
In a memorable moment, Gemma delivered a classic line and a brilliantly assertive takedown, as highlighted by Paddy Power Games in a campaign celebrating self-assurance.
Gemma described the advertisement as incredibly glamorous. She was particularly impressed with a dress featured in it, saying she actually bought it for herself!
Paddy Power Games really created an immersive experience – it felt like being on a movie set! I especially enjoyed playing craps and had a fantastic time.
‘It’s bold, it’s fun, and it’s got The GC written all over it!’
