Gemma Collins shared that she lost weight while on ‘I’m A Celebrity All Stars,’ eating only rice and beans during her time on the show.
The 45-year-old reality TV star, known from TOWIE, is back on the ITV show after 13 years. She’s determined to do better this time, following a previous experience where she left after only three days.
Gemma was surprised by how much weight she lost while filming the show in South Africa in September 2025.
The reality star tried Mounjaro injections for a short time before filming, but had to stop because of a gallbladder problem.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: ‘When they weighed me I’d lost 1st 4lb (8kg)’.
The TV star called the experience a fantastic opportunity to disconnect from technology and focus on her well-being, and she’s since been making an effort to use her phone less often.
Okay, seriously, everyone is finally seeing what I’ve known all along! Gemma totally crushed that awful eating trial on ‘I’m a Celeb’ last night, and people are starting to realize she’s actually amazing! It’s like, her redemption arc is officially happening, and I’m so here for it! I knew she had it in her!
Gemma faced a tough challenge right away, taking on a notoriously difficult eating trial with Craig Charles to try and get her team into the main camp.
The actress bravely arrived at camp by helicopter, a feat she struggled with in the past. She had been overcome with emotion and cried during a similar attempt back in 2014.
Oh my gosh, when Gemma came back, everyone immediately noticed! It’s like, all the fans – me included, obviously – decided this was officially her ‘redemption era,’ you know? She’s back and better than ever, and we’re all here for it!
Once Ant and Dec reached the camp, they informed Gemma and Craig they’d have to take part in a particularly unpleasant eating challenge. Afterwards, the pair went their separate ways to different camps.
Okay, so Craig and Gemma – they’re totally dedicated, you guys! They actually made a secret pact, deciding exactly how much of each crazy dish they’d brave for the challenge. We’re talking about things like Fish Eye Pie, that terrifying Terror-rine, Brain Freeze… and oh my gosh, the Bloody Moory Shots! They pre-determined their limits, like, ‘I can handle this much of the weirdness!’ It’s amazing, honestly.
As a huge fan, I always understood the challenge this way: whoever promised to eat the most food had to finish it all to earn a point for their team. It was all about commitment and actually following through on what you said you’d eat!
Seeing the damage, Craig was surprised and asked, “Does it seem worse on TV than it actually is?”
The competition was very close, and Gemma had a hard time with a few of the dishes. But in the final round, it came down to a direct challenge: could Gemma or Craig finish an entire tray of Bloody Moory shots?
The latest episode ended with a dramatic moment as Craig and Gemma were about to kiss, but viewers were quick to compliment Gemma after she came back to the show.
They wrote on X: ‘Obsessed with Gemma wanting to prove herself after last time;
‘I’m so happy Gemma is proving everyone wrong on this eating trial;
‘Gemma actually doing great at this trial!! GAGGED! Her redemption era begins;’
‘Gemma doing better than I thought she would already!’
‘Gemma’s redemption era looks so good on her;’
Just twenty minutes in, Gemma has already conquered her fear of heights and impressively handled a challenging eating trial. It’s clear she’s going to be a strong contender throughout the series.
Before going back into the jungle, Gemma made it clear she wasn’t planning on leaving after only three days this time.
The reality TV star famously left the show after just three days in 2014, breaking down in tears because she thought she had malaria and wasn’t getting enough to eat. She’s said this experience has bothered her ever since.
Gemma stated she has no intention of leaving after just 72 hours, and is determined to stay until the very end to win.
I didn’t have any memorable moments last time, but I’ve grown a lot since then. I’m much more confident and have a completely different outlook now.
Gemma explained that winning the series would be the highlight of her career. She said becoming the ‘Legend’ would make her feel completely fulfilled.
Leaving my job felt like a weight lifted. It would be a defining moment in my career – something I achieved entirely on my own terms, and no one could diminish that.
I’m A Celebrity All Stars continues on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV1.
