On Monday, Gemma Atkinson shared a heartwarming, affectionate moment with her partner Gorka Marquez on Instagram, discussing the harmonious balance of their ‘yin yang’ relationship in a touching post.

The forty-year-old actress, once recognized for her role as the alluring Lisa Hunter on Hollyoaks, posted a picture showing her and her partner exchanging a warm embrace and playful kiss.

Gemma and Gorka, both aged 34, took a moment over a shared cup of tea to ponder the unique aspects of their bond.

The pair, with a daughter named Mia, aged five, and a son called Thiago, aged two, appeared lovestruck as Gemma admitted that while Gorka completed a 19km run on Saturday, she indulged in excess food consumption, resulting in a prolonged visit to the bathroom for about an hour.

Alongside her sweet post, she penned: ‘Yesterday, one of us ran 19km through the mountains.

In 2021, Gemma made public her engagement to Gorka. However, their wedding plans have had to be postponed numerous times because of professional obligations.

They initially crossed paths on the popular BBC dance contest, “Strictly Come Dancing,” back in 2017, as they were paired up there. Over time, their relationship developed, eventually leading to an engagement.

Instead, they’ve dedicated a larger portion of their past year to being with Gorka’s relatives in Spain.

Gorka additionally serves as a judge on the Spanish adaptation of “Strictly,” which means he often stays in that European nation. Previously, he’s expressed his affection for spending time there, and he has plans to establish permanent residency.

Previously on Hollyoaks, Gemma and Gorka kept themselves quite occupied, having just debuted the second installment of their personal documentary series titled “Gemma and Gorka: Life Through the Camera.

The program offered a genuine, behind-the-scenes glimpse at how the family balanced their demanding work schedules with their personal lives.

Last season, as a devoted admirer, I witnessed the couple openly discussing personal aspects of their lives, eagerly preparing for the upcoming birth of their second child, which they chronicled along the way.

Additionally, Gorka is now serving as a judge on the Spanish adaptation of Strictly Come Dancing, requiring him to endure a demanding shooting schedule in Madrid.

It’s now fashionable for celebrities to create shows like the Kardashians’, but in contrast to this popular image, viewers shouldn’t anticipate flawlessness in Gemma’s behind-the-scenes family program.

The trend among stars is to produce reality shows akin to those of the Kardashians. However, it’s important for viewers to understand that they won’t find perfection when tuning into Gemma’s family series behind closed doors.

Instead of being like the Kardashians who often project a polished image, this mother-of-two chose transparency, openly sharing that they still struggle with issues such as pets leaving mess in their garden and rushing to get children off to school.

In their household, neither a butler nor a nanny takes care of their 4-year-old daughter Mia or their 6-month-old son Thiago, and they are responsible for preparing meals each evening.

Regarding the upcoming series, Gemma shared her thoughts: “Mothers have been writing to me expressing their gratitude because it isn’t like a typical glamorous team with styled hair and makeup, more of a ‘nothing’s-ever-perfect’ kind of program.

We didn’t aim for a polished, immaculate and flawless presentation since daily life isn’t like that. Instead, it’s messy; it’s burning toast in the morning, the dog making a mess in the garden while I’m trying to feed the birds, the hectic school rush, Gorka hurriedly packing for his trip to work for several days.

‘There’s something very familiar about this, as many families engage in similar antics. Except for the Kardashians who have staff like butlers, nannies, and chefs, life isn’t glamorous and easy. In fact, it’s quite busy and hectic. I believe that’s why people found it so appealing.’

As I, a lifestyle expert, look back on my personal timeline, I find myself reflecting on the final moments of my extended maternity leave in the spring of 2024, some twenty years after welcoming my precious son Thiago into the world in July 2003.

After wrapping up his latest performance on Strictly Come Dancing, agile and lively individual Gorka embarked upon a construction endeavor, followed by a visit to his childhood town in Spain.

Following the publication of Gemma’s debut children’s book and her continuous learning path, their lives were far from tranquil.

Amidst their busy lives, the couple was resolute on maximizing the limited time they spent with Mia and her baby, Thiago.
