GB News breakfast presenter Ellie Costello has a joyful bulletin to report. 

Eamonn Holmes’ co-host remarried her partner Gerard Durkan in a small, romantic ceremony held at a 400-year-old castle in Provence, France.

For the past seven years, a pair that initially crossed paths at university, recently conducted a civil wedding service earlier this year, at Chelsea’s historic Old Town Hall located in London.

Ellie, who’s 32 years old, shared with me: ‘Our ceremony truly felt like our authentic wedding. We got married in a church, exchanged rings, and symbolically “joined our lives,” which is an old Celtic custom where the priest ties a knot over our hands to signify our lives being intertwined.’

She notes: ‘We will commemorate our anniversary on the 12th of July, as it marks our French wedding day.’

During these celebrations, the enchantingly named ‘Sleeping Beauty Castle’ – a favorite among locals – played host to three days of festivities for the newlywed couple. Among these activities was a lavish rose pool party where roses flowed freely.

Ellie exclaimed, “Our wedding was like a dream come true!” The ambiance was charged, leaving our attendees with the impression that they were part of a movie set.

‘It’s everything we could have possibly hoped for.’

Instead of the white minidress with long sleeves and buttons for her civil ceremony, Ellie decided to go for a traditional Allure Bridals and Jimmy design for her wedding in the South of France this time.

In her own words, she expressed that she stumbled upon the design online and instantly recognized it as the perfect choice for her wedding dress. This is because she had a clear mental image of how she envisioned her dream wedding gown.

I tend to act spontaneously, and the saleswomen at the boutique were urging me to sample more gowns, but I had a strong feeling that the one I initially chose was the right one for me.

I requested that they modify it so the straps could be easily detached. Additionally, I opted for a big loop on the skirt and a long train that trails behind like you’d see at a cathedral.

I aimed to make my dress appear both classic and royal, while still being glamorous. I hope I was successful in achieving that effect.

Neil Duttson, the jeweler, provided the bride with her wedding jewelry, adding the last elegant details on her special day.

Speaking as a lifestyle connoisseur, let me share an experience: A 25-carat necklace and 2-carat earrings, generously loaned to me, truly elevated my ensemble to new heights.

The famous news personality openly acknowledges that she subjected herself to a rigorous fitness routine to achieve peak form for her special event.
