Gavin & Stacey’s Ruth Jones seen in-character for new Harlan Coben series
Actress Ruth Jones, known for her role in Gavin & Stacey, was recently seen filming on the set of Harlan Coben‘s upcoming Netflix series titled Run Away.
In an upcoming series, we follow the life of character Simon (James Nesbitt). His peaceful existence is shattered when his oldest child (Ellie de Lange) suddenly decides to leave home.
The summary hints that his pursuit of his daughter will lead him into a perilous underbelly, unearthing hidden truths that might irrevocably shatter his family for all time.
Filming for the project is happening now in Manchester, with Jones seen portraying Elena Ravenscroft in her distinctive attire – a vibrant yellow trench coat, denim pants, and large, squarish spectacles.
Right after the sighting of Nesbitt donning a sleek black suit with a matching grey overcoat, I couldn’t help but notice the somber look etched on his face while on set.
In the coming eight-episode series, inspired by Coben’s 2019 book, features Minnie Driver, Alfred Enoch, and Jon Pointing as stars. Danny Brocklehurst will be writing the script for this production once more.
Earlier hinting at what viewers could anticipate in the series, Coben shared that “Run Away” delves into the complexities of family: the lengths we go to preserve it, the secrets hidden within, and those concealed collectively among its members.
Each time you pass by that house, a world full of mysteries lies beyond its door, and none of us can fathom what’s hidden within.
Apart from that, he was highly commended for his performance as Nesbitt, known for his roles in past adaptations of Coben’s works such as “Stay Close” and “Missing You.” He was consistently portrayed as both natural and genuine throughout the productions.
The author noted that he is a compassionate actor, as he seems to genuinely feel emotions, which in turn makes viewers feel sympathetic towards him.
One of the recent partnerships between Netflix and Coben is “Run Away,” joining a list that includes previous series like “Safe,” “The Stranger,” “Fool Me Once,” and “Missing You.” Coming up next are “Caught” and “I Will Find You.”
Or, more informally:
Netflix’s latest collaboration with Coben is the thriller series “Run Away,” which follows hits like “Safe,” “The Stranger,” “Fool Me Once,” and “Missing You.” Upcoming shows include “Caught” and “I Will Find You.
Run Away has no release date yet.
