Fans of the show Gavin & Stacey were excited to hear that Ruth Jones might be appearing on the next season of The Celebrity Traitors.
But now the star has confirmed she recently rejected an offer from the show’s producers.
She explained that she’d been asked about participating and, being a fan of the show, she initially thought it would be a wonderful opportunity.
I realized it would involve swimming in a lake and wearing a wetsuit, so I decided it wasn’t for me. I’d rather just watch.
Following the popularity of the first season, reports surfaced in October that the actress was being considered for the show’s second series.
Rumors suggest David Mitchell, Amanda Holden, Steve Pemberton, and Joanne McNally are among those being considered for the second series.
The BBC recently announced a new three-year agreement to continue producing both The Traitors and Celebrity Traitors. This deal is reportedly quite substantial.
Good news for fans of the popular show hosted by Claudia Winkleman: it’s been confirmed the show will continue airing until 2030!
The reality show The Traitors, produced by Studio Lambert Scotland, first aired in 2022 and has since enjoyed four popular seasons.
The celebrity version of the show launched its first season earlier this year, building on the popularity of the original version with regular people.
As a huge fan of clever social deduction, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! You can look forward to more seasons of The Traitors! Series five is coming to BBC One and iPlayer next year, and the good news doesn’t stop there – we have seasons six, seven, and eight already planned for 2028, 2029, and 2030 respectively. Get ready for years of deception and drama!
More of The Traitors is on the way! Series two will air later this year, with series three coming next year. Plans are already in place for series four in 2028 and series five in 2029.
The BBC says the series will keep delivering dramatic storylines, including unexpected plot twists, hidden secrets, dangerous missions, betrayals, exiles, and plenty of murders, all set within the famous Ardross Castle.
This continued dedication shows the BBC is still investing in creating original, exciting entertainment that attracts and unites viewers.
This year’s season premiere attracted a record-breaking 6.9 million viewers, making it the most-watched launch show ever.
As a huge fan, I was thrilled to see the latest episode break all records! It had even more viewers than the celebrity special, which brought in 6.5 million people, and way more than the last regular season premiere back in January, which had 5.4 million. It’s amazing to see the show continuing to grow!
The latest series of The Traitors in 2026 averaged 12.5 million viewers, a significant increase from the 10.3 million who watched last year. An additional 6.6 million people streamed the show on BBC iPlayer.
This year’s regular series was won by Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby.
Meanwhile comedian Alan Carr was crowned winner of the first ever celebrity series.
I was absolutely thrilled to see such an incredible group of people involved! It included some of my favorites like Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, and Stephen Fry, alongside brilliant personalities such as Joe Marler, Jonathan Ross, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar, Nick Mohammed, Niko Omilana, Paloma Faith, Ruth Codd, Tameka Empson, Tom Daley, Cat Burns, David Olusoga, Joe Wilkinson, and the wonderful Kate Garraway. Honestly, what a fantastic line-up!
