Ruth Jones, the star and co-creator of Gavin & Stacey, has given fans a promising hint about her next project with James Corden, saying she feels “very lucky” to be working with him. While we don’t know when it will be released, it’s definitely something to look forward to!
The upcoming Apple TV series, reportedly titled The Choir, will feature Jones and Corden as long-lost siblings reconnecting after years of separation. Both actors are also executive producers on the show.
Ruth Jones, the actress who played Nessa Jenkins on Gavin & Stacey and also co-created and wrote the show with James Corden, recently told RadioTimes.com that filming for their new Apple TV series will begin soon.

I’m currently working on a new project in Wales with my longtime friend and colleague, Steve Speirs. We actually wrote it together! We’ll be filming it before we start work on the project I’m doing with James, she said.
I’m currently working with both James and Steve on separate but related projects. It’s going really well – we have a clear plan for each, and I’m fortunate to have strong production teams supporting both efforts.

As the story begins, Jones and Corden play Lisa and Ben, who haven’t spoken in years. Lisa stayed in her quiet hometown in England, while Ben moved away to live overseas.
Life events lead Ben back to the town he left behind, forcing him to confront both his past and his family.

The new comedy-drama will have eight episodes and star James Corden and Ruth Jones alongside a talented group of British actors. The full cast hasn’t been announced yet, so we’ll share more details as they become available.
Before that, Jones appeared with James Nesbitt in Run Away, an eight-episode thriller on Netflix. The series, adapted from Harlan Coben’s novel, centers on a father’s desperate search for his vanished daughter.
The Choir will stream on Apple TV, while Run Away will premiere on Netflix on 1 January 2026.
