Gavin & Stacey comeback spoilers teased in new set photos

As a gamer who’s spent countless hours rewinding, pausing, and analyzing every frame of my favorite TV shows, I must say, the new Gavin & Stacey photos have sent me into a frenzy! With my DVR skills honed to perfection, I can tell you that these pictures hint at something big – a wedding perhaps? But where’s Nessa and Dave? The cliffhanger from the 2019 special has left me on tenterhooks, just like when I was trying to get past that one impossible level in Super Mario World.

According to fresh pictures from the set, it appears that the 2024 Christmas special of Gavin & Stacey may involve a wedding.

The filming for a new holiday-themed episode of the cherished BBC show has started recently as previously announced, and the actors have been seen in their finest attire on the set.

Photos published by MailOnline show James Corden (Smithy) and Mathew Horne (Gavin) dressed to the nines, sporting wedding-appropriate outfits.

Additionally, Joanna Page (as Stacey), Alison Steadman (playing Pam), and Melanie Walters (in the role of Gwen) are also appropriately attired.

Fans will recall that the 2019 holiday special featured a dramatic cliffhanger: Nessa (portrayed by Ruth Jones) knelt down and proposed to Smithy. Therefore, these fresh images undoubtedly stir speculation among viewers.

While Jones is nowhere to be seen in the photos, her character’s former flame Dave Coaches (played by Steffan Rhodri) was spotted.

In the third season’s finale of Gavin & Stacey, it was during that time when Dave found himself heartbroken after being left at the altar by Nessa.

Have Gina and Jim resumed their relationship in the past five years since our last holiday special? Is Dave making an appearance for Nessa’s wedding to Smithy, or is it someone else’s wedding we are attending this year? The truth remains unknown, but join us on Christmas Day to find out!

Among the familiar faces I encountered on set, there were Rob Brydon as Bryn, Julia Davis portraying Dawn, and Adrian Scarborough bringing Pete to life.

In the upcoming episode, one actor who will not reappear is Oscar Hartland, who portrayed Neil, the child of Smithy and Nessa, from season three, and made a comeback in the 2019 special.

Hartland expressed his disappointment to The Sun in July, saying, “I had been expecting a call,” but it didn’t come. He continued, “Neil should appear in the final episode because he is Smithy and Nessa’s son. It just wouldn’t feel right if they wrote him out. After all, Neil would be 15, which happens to be the same age as me.
