Gavin and Stacey cast mark exciting filming milestone

As a gamer with a heart for British sitcoms, I can’t help but feel like Santa himself has just dropped a bag full of joy down my chimney! Gavin and Stacey, the show that brought laughter into countless homes, is back after five long years, and I couldn’t be more excited!

The popular show “Gavin and Stacey” is gearing up to delight its fans with an eagerly awaited holiday gift, as production on their Christmas special has commenced.

After the highly praised 2019 episode left Smithy (James Corden) and Nessa (Ruth Jones) in a suspenseful predicament, the popular BBC series is set to air one final episode later on this year.

Simultaneously, they are reconnecting on set, where Rob Brydon, portraying Nessa’s uncle Bryn, shared a photo with his on-screen niece (Jones) and the show’s co-creator.

“He posted a selfie on Instagram with the caption ‘Something’s happening…’ and added the hashtag #GavinAndStacey.”

Corden, a co-creator with Jones, posted a photo from the set to indicate that production on the special is already in progress.

“Day 1. Here we go x,” the actor and presenter wrote.

Enthusiasts of the series are thrilled about revisiting the characters, five years since their last TV stint. One fan even expressed it as exuberantly as if Oasis were reuniting again.

Despite the storyline remaining a secret, fans of Gavin and Stacey are universally excited to find out if Nessa will succeed in her unexpected proposal to Smithy.

1. As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my enthusiasm! If he doesn’t end up marrying Nessa, I fear I might lose it!

Last May, I shared an exciting update with fellow fans: after a lot of hard work, James Corden and I (or should I say, we) had completed the script for our upcoming special. To break the news, we posted a classic black-and-white photo on Instagram!

“In some exciting news… The final episode of Gavin and Stacey has been completed! James Corden shared a photo with Ruth Jones, both holding the script, in a post announcing the official wrap-up.”

“See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James.”

The first three seasons of the popular show “Gavin & Stacey” can be streamed on BBC iPlayer. Additionally, a new Christmas special of “Gavin & Stacey” is scheduled to air on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Christmas Day in 2024.
