Now that the fifth season of Slow Horses has concluded, fans are already eagerly awaiting the next installment. Fortunately for UK-based Gary Oldman admirers, the actor will soon be returning to another highly praised project.
So, earlier this year I caught a one-man show of Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape at the York Theatre Royal, and honestly, it was amazing! The reviews were spot-on – the actor really nailed it.
For anyone who missed it, you’re in luck: it has now been confirmed for a London staging in 2026.

The Royal Court announced its new season, which will include a show starring and directed by Gary Oldman.
The event will take place at the Sloane Square venue from Friday, May 8th, to Saturday, May 30th, 2026. Tickets will be available to everyone starting next Tuesday, November 4th.

According to an official description, the film centers on a man who, on his 69th birthday, finds himself alone, reflecting on memories of his past.
Before each performance of the main play, audiences will see a brief, Beckett-style piece called ‘Godot’s To-Do List’ by Leo Simpe-Asante.
After 39 years, veteran actor Oldman is thrilled to be back at the Royal Court, performing in both ‘Krapp’s Last Tape’ and Leo’s new play, ‘Godot’s To Do-List.’ He expressed his honor and pride at being involved in the productions.
This year, a review in The Guardian praised the work, stating that despite potentially being a self-indulgent failure, it was surprisingly powerful and moving, ranking among the best contemporary interpretations of Krapp’s Last Tape.
Whatsonstage, meanwhile, complimented the actor for performing with “total conviction”.

Good news for Gary Oldman fans who aren’t able to see his work in London or want to watch one of his acclaimed films right away: a favorite movie of his is now available to stream in the UK.
The 2011 film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy features a star-studded cast including Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Stephen Graham, Kathy Burke, and John Hurt. You can now watch it on both BBC iPlayer and Prime Video.
The popular Apple TV+ series Slow Horses has been renewed for two more seasons, bringing the total to six and seven. Season six will be adapted from Mick Herron’s novels Joe Country and Slough House, and season seven will be based on his book Bad Actors.
You can watch the first five seasons of Slow Horses on Apple TV+. Season six doesn’t have a release date yet.
I’m so excited! I just found out that Krapp’s Last Tape is coming to the Royal Court in London in May 2026. And even better, tickets go on sale November 4th – I’m definitely setting a reminder!
