As a lover of stories and a connoisseur of life experiences, I find it truly remarkable to see such a diverse range of individuals gracing the pages of CBeebies Bedtime Stories. From Dolly Parton snuggling up in her vibrant yellow biker jacket to read Dog Loves Books, to Eddie Redmayne charming us with his Christmas Day appearance alongside Greg the dinosaur, these celebrity storytellers have brought a unique charm and warmth to our bedtime routines.

It’s been unveiled that Gary Oldman will be the main actor for a unique Children In Need CBeebies Bedtime Story installment.

In this rendition, the lead actor of Batman, who’s 66 years old, is set to narrate an authentic tale penned exclusively for the show by Claire Taylor. The story will be accompanied by striking illustrations courtesy of Tim Budgen.

The BAFTA-award winning star will feature in the special episode which will air on Friday as part of the BBC’s Children in Need 2024 show.

In conversation about his recent part, Gary mentioned: “Tales possess an extraordinary ability to ignite the imagination and instill hope in the minds of young individuals. It appears that hope among youth is scarce nowadays.

It’s a genuine pleasure for me to share this unique bedtime tale for BBC Children in Need on CBeebies tonight. May our story spread warmth, inspire, and offer hope to all the little ones and their families tuning in.

Gary made his announcement not long ago, following Paddy McGuinness being chosen as the most recent high-profile figure to narrate the CBeebies Bedtime Story.

The humorist, aged 51, is set to occupy the renowned yellow chair for a reading session of “The Stompysaurus” penned by Rachel Bright and Chris Chatterton.

The sweet children’s book follows a reassuring tale about coping with overwhelming feelings and frustration.

Paddy expressed: “It’s truly a privilege to narrate a CBeebies Bedtime Story. Sharing stories in this way is enchanting, and I wish all the little ones have a lovely time cuddling with their caregivers while watching it.

The children’s book I’m currently engrossed in, titled “The Stompysaurus”, offers insights on how to ease up and find tranquility amidst overwhelming feelings.

For me, the focus will shift towards directing my energy while I participate in the massive cycling event organized by Radio 2 for BBC Children in Need.

Paddy’s CBeebies Bedtime Story will air at 6.50pm on Friday 15 November, CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.

After learning that he had successfully raised an astonishing £1,000,277 for Children In Need during his grueling 300-mile charity bike ride on Wednesday, the comedian was overcome with emotion and began to weep.

51-year-old television host was deeply moved, almost unable to speak, when Zoe Ball of BBC Radio 2 revealed that his fundraising efforts had raised over £1 million in donations.

Paddy kicked off his cycle on Monday at Wrexham Football Club and is hoping to finish in Glasgow on Friday, all while riding his tiny chopper bike that has three gears.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to pieces! I’ll be following my idol on an unforgettable journey through the heart of England: Flintshire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Westmorland, Cumbria, Dumfriesshire, and Lanarkshire. Can’t wait to catch a glimpse!

While taking a break, Paddy turned on BBC Radio 2, listening to Zoe and Vernon Kay, eager to learn the grand total of funds that had been raised.

Zoe exclaimed: “The grand total for Paddy’s Extreme Duration Cycling Event benefiting BBC Children In Need has reached… £1,000,277! Congratulations!

She added said: ‘Are you alright there Paddy? He’s gone very quiet. Are you alright? Can you actually speak, darling?’

Upon hearing Paddy sob over the radio, Vernon remarked, “You aren’t going to set me off too, are you, friend? I might join you!

In tears, Paddy responded: ‘Thank you so much everyone, that’s amazing. That’s absolutely amazing.

‘Oh god, I can’t believe we’ve got to a million, I can’t believe it.’

Gary and Paddy have been stepping into roles similar to those recently filled by individuals like Billie Eilish, Meera Syal, and Ryan Reynolds in their latest projects.

Among the latest performers gracing our show is Tom Hardy, an actor, who took up reading “Matisse’s Magical Trail”.

On Friday, 15th November, starting at 7 pm, BBC Children in Need will be broadcast simultaneously on BBC One and iPlayer, direct from MediaCity in Salford. (This sentence conveys the same information as the original while using simpler language.)

How the CBeebies Bedtime Story has become a must-do on the A-list promo trail: A look at the stars using the platform to promote their latest material

CBeebies Bedtime Story has seen a host of big stars take on the role in the hopes of getting the nation reading.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed an intriguing trend: it seems some big names in entertainment are joining this platform for more than just fun. Interestingly enough, several A-listers who make appearances on children’s channels are leveraging this platform as a fresh avenue to showcase their latest projects.

When famous personalities are busy endorsing their new album, movie, or publication through podcasts and television appearances, CBeebies is also incorporated into their promotional strategy.

Billie Eilish is one of the A-lists star to be read the CBeebies Bedtime Story.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that on this coming Friday at 6:50 PM, I’ll be delving into the heartwarming tale “This Moose Belongs to Me” by the talented Oliver Jeffers. This delightful book has been captivating readers worldwide, and it’s my pleasure to contribute to its ongoing success as a promoter of this remarkable work, especially following the release of my third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, earlier this year.

In May 2022, Harry Styles, aged 30, found himself engrossed in reading his debut children’s book during a broadcast that month.

One Direction band member harmoniously read “In Every House, On Every Street” during a time when his album “Harry’s House,” mirroring the title, was being released, coinciding with his guest appearance on a kids’ program.

2022’s top-streamed pop album debut on Apple Music within its initial two hours of release, as confirmed by the platform itself.

Previously from One Direction, Harry gleamed while wearing a set of brown pajamas, lounging in an oversized yellow armchair and greeted: “Hi, I’m Harry, welcome to my abode. I adore it here, I enjoy listening to tunes, reading, and spending time with friends.

Tonight’s bedtime tale is centered around a home brimming with affection and merriment. The title of the book is “In Every House, In Every Street,” penned by Jess Hitchman, beautifully illustrated by Lili La Baleine.

Zayn Malik, 31, became the second member of One Direction to join the show.

The singer recorded the bedtime story, Music is Everything, while promoting his country-inspired fourth solo album Room Under the Stair.

He explained that he selected the book due to his affection for Bob Marley, and because, as a parent, he values both music and reading.

As a devoted parent, I happily share my precious little one, Khai, with my former partner, the renowned model Gigi Hadid. At bedtime, you can find me curled up with her, reading stories or singing lullabies.

In a special edition of a children’s program at the Glastonbury Festival held last month, Sergio, the lead singer of Kasabian, was seen reading. (102 characters)

Last weekend, the singer took the stage at the Woodsies festival alongside his band members Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, and Tim Carter, adding their performance to the storied history of that event.

At 6:50 PM, it was 42-year-old Paloma Faith, who graced the stage at this year’s Glastonbury festival, who picked up the book “The Party Animals” by Alex Willmore to read.

2020 saw actor David Schwanner from the show Friends appear on Bedtime Stories where he read aloud The Smeds and The Smoos.

Currently, David was actively marketing his forthcoming comedy titled Intelligence on Sky, where he portrays a rebellious, power-seeking NSA agent stationed at a Cheltenham analogue of MI6.

In the countdown to Christmas 2022, a notable array of celebrities including Kate Winslet graced our screens as they made their appearances on the show.

Actress from the film Titanic has garnered multiple honors, such as an Oscar, Grammy, two Emmys, five British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), and five Golden Globes.

However she still jumped at the chance to appear on Bedtime Stories.

In simpler terms, she delved into “Grumpycorn,” penned by Sarah McIntyre, where a unicorn yearns to craft the greatest tale ever spun, yet finds herself at a loss for inspiration.

One star who didn’t appear to be appearing on the show for promotional purposes was Tom Hardy.

Over time, the well-known actor from Hollywood has frequently guest-starred on a kids’ TV station, and created quite a buzz when he first appeared there in 2016.

Tom returned to screens to read I Am A Tiger by Karl Newson with illustrations by Ross Collins.

Kay Benbow, the controller at CBeebies, shared with The Guardian that he and her representatives reached out because he was eager to participate due to his own children.

I owe a heartfelt thanks to him; he significantly boosted the visibility of Bedtime Stories, drawing in audiences that might not have initially considered exploring CBeebies.

‘Let me share an enchanting bedtime tale titled “I Am A Tiger” written by Karl Newson and beautifully illustrated by Ross Collins. This story follows a seemingly small mouse, but there’s more to this character than meets the eye.’

Parents nationwide beamed with joy when Dolly Parton graced a well-liked BBC show in 2017.

Dressed in a vibrant yellow biker jacket, the country music star snuggled up in a comfy armchair to read Louise Yates’s award-winning Dog Loves Books.

In 2018, Orlando Bloom sparked excitement among viewers when he appeared on a TV show, with some fans stating they’d watch it even though they didn’t have kids of their own, jestingly implying their reason for tuning in.

The actor was spotted lounging on an easy chair, his limbs splayed, and a dog named Mighty spread comfortably across his lap. His delivery of the brief tale seemed to cause some slight discomfort among viewers.

In 2021, instead of playing loud rock music with the Foo Fighters, bandleader Dave Grohl opted for a peaceful evening by reading a bedtime story.

In January 2022, Reese Witherspoon made history as the first actress with an Academy Award to appear on CBeebies Bedtime Stories.

The actress shared an evening reading of “Extraordinary” penned by Penny Harrison, narrating the touching story that reveals unexpected beauty hidden within everyday moments.

As she started telling the tale, Reese found: ‘At times, when we’re preoccupied, it might be challenging to spot the wonders hidden in our surroundings. Common sights can appear rather ordinary. However, if you pause and observe carefully, you’ll discover that our world is nothing short of extraordinary!’

In 2021, Tom Hiddleston delightfully narrated a children’s book, surrounded by plush teddy bear characters from the story, during his appearance on the show.

Under a cozy, purple cable-knit sweater, the Loki star settled down to enjoy the tale of Supertato, a story penned by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet.

He concluded his reading: ‘Wow that little pea caused a lot of mayhem. But luckily, Supertato was there to save the day! Now it’s time for you to go to sleep. Perhaps you’ll dream of mischievous villains of brave superheroes. Goodnight little peas.’

On Christmas Day in 2017, Eddie Redmayne garnered acclaim when he appeared alongside a dinosaur named Greg, providing comfort and lulling the country to sleep.

Known primarily for his Oscar-winning roles in films like The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the celebrated actor thrilled fans by performing a reading of “If I Had A Dinosaur.
