The Apple TV+ series focuses on Jackson Lamb, played by Oldman, and his unconventional team stationed at Slough House – a kind of retirement home for MI5 operatives – as they work diligently to safeguard the United Kingdom.

Since the series just concluded its fourth installment, the actor, Oldman, has mirrored his on-screen persona by joining MI5. To mark the holiday season, he recited a contemporary adaptation of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’, adding a touch of cheer to the occasion.

Under the title ‘MI5’s Christmas Tale’, a video posted on Instagram shows employees at the agency’s main building, where the actor Oldman portrays the role of Lamb, casually narrating the story.

On Christmas Eve, complete silence reigned throughout Thames House, only broken by the soft clicking sound of a computer mouse. But soon, there were footsteps echoing down the staircases, followed by the glow of screens and the rhythmic tapping of a hundred keyboard keys.

Instead of the usual tranquil setting during Christmas in your nativity scenes, things are buzzing with activity within Thames. As families back home hurriedly wrap their last-minute gifts, our team will be swapping shifts. From all of us here at 5, we extend warm wishes for a joyful festive season. Through the agency’s Instagram account, they posted a video that came with a caption saying: “For this year’s Christmas at MI5, we’re opting for lamb instead of the usual turkey – Jackson Lamb.

It seemed appropriate for him to transition from Slough House to Thames House, so while he was momentarily absent from the Slow Horses, we asked him to create a unique Christmas greeting on our behalf, which we will share with you all.

Over the holiday season, our team will remain vigilant, ensuring the security of the UK by countering potential threats.
