The mystery thriller Child 44, featuring Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy, is now available to watch for free on a streaming service. Set in early 1950s Soviet Russia, the film originally came out in 2015.
The movie, adapted from Tom Rob Smith’s novel, centers on a secret agent who is stripped of his life after refusing to accuse his wife of treason. Forced into exile, the couple teams up with a general to hunt down a serial killer, but their investigation soon reveals a large-scale conspiracy.
The movie is now available to stream for free on Tubi, after being added to the service today.
The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa, who also directed Life. The cast features Noomi Rapace (known for Prometheus), Jason Clarke (Oppenheimer), Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), Joel Kinnaman (For All Mankind), and Vincent Cassel (Westworld).
One IMDb user praised Child 44 as “an excellent movie,” but also described it as deeply unsettling and realistically bleak. They explained that the film’s portrayal of fear and paranoia leaves no room for hope, and that the oppressive atmosphere makes it feel like any action, or inaction, can be twisted and used against you.

I gotta say, this game really grabbed me, even when it felt a little chaotic. Keith & the Movies put it perfectly – it’s a really interesting procedural game, and I’m totally okay with being in the minority for liking it so much!
