Gary Lineker reunites with brother Wayne amid 17-year feud as they swig booze from the bottle during pundit’s son Harry’s Ibiza wedding – with star left worse for wear after wild bash

At a family wedding that marked the end of their 17-year rift, Gary Lineker and his brother Wayne joyfully drank from a bottle, their laughter echoing in celebration.

64-year-old, who was once a popular analyst on Match of the Day, appeared jubilant and boisterous as he joyfully consumed drinks during the celebration of his second born son’s wedding to Annabelle, which took place in Ibiza.

In an Instagram-posted video, Gary swiftly drank from the bottle, then handed it off to his business-savvy, 62-year-old younger brother. It appeared that they had put their past differences aside for the sake of the family gathering.

Gary has a son named Harry, age 31, along with other sons George (age 34), Tobias (age 29), and Angus (age 27). These children were born to him by his former wife Michelle Cockayne, whom he married in 1986.

The ex-footballer’s lively triumphant actions occurred not long after he parted ways with the BBC following a heated argument about his allegedly offensive “rat” comment related to Judaism.

The conflict between Gary and Wayne can be traced back to the year 2008, a time when Gary, a renowned striker for England and Barcelona, began dating Danielle Bux and took her on vacation to Ibiza.

According to a statement made by Wayne in April 2015 to The Sun, he believes that Danielle was the reason for his losing touch with his brother Gary. Unfortunately, Gary is no longer present in his life.

Wayne found himself perplexed as the regular phone chats and house visits suddenly ceased without explanation, a situation he attributes to an uncomfortable initial meeting with Danielle, whom Gary wed in 2009 before their divorce in 2016.

In August 2008, Wayne and his companion arrived in Ibiza, but the experience was quite uncomfortable for him. He didn’t gel well with Danielle, and their connection felt frosty.

Wayne asserted that Danielle spent the first day inside her room, and there was no communication between them when they went out together on the second night.

The influencer chose not to stir things up with his brother by avoiding the topic of tension, however, he didn’t speak to Danielle following the vacation.

In 1986, he served as the best man at Gary’s wedding to Michelle Cockayne, his first marriage. However, he did not attend his brother’s second wedding ceremony.

The club owner decided not to show up since his brother informed him that it wasn’t possible for him to bring his longtime girlfriend, Ana Tanaka, whom he had been dating for 18 months.

‘She was a lovely, polite girl, and not a five-minute girlfriend,’ argued Wayne.

Wayne asserted that he previously attempted to mend their relationship, even reaching out on Gary’s 50th birthday. However, their conversation over the phone didn’t last much longer than a minute.

Recently, Wayne opened up about his 17-year long dispute with his brother during an interview for The Mail’s Straight to the Comments! podcast. He candidly admitted that their relationship is not in a good state, acknowledging: ‘To be honest, it’s not great. We don’t communicate much. However, I will always support him wholeheartedly.’
