Gareth Gates wraps plastic bags around his feet as girlfriend Allana Taylor wears CLOGS to Becky Hill’s beach wedding in Cornwall – while the bride loses her shoes altogether!

A UK September beach wedding is high risk regarding weather. 

Becky Hill enjoyed sunny weather, but her guests, including Gareth Gates and his girlfriend, West End performer Allana Taylor, had a less comfortable time on the wet, rocky beach in Falmouth, Cornwall last week.

The 41-year-old singer, known from Pop Idol, protected his fashionable loafers by wrapping them in two plastic bags from the Co-op supermarket while walking on the beach. He took the bags off once he was safely off the sand to keep his shoes clean and dry.

Instead of heels or dressy shoes, Allana chose comfortable, practical Birkenstock clogs made of wool felt for her trip.

Becky, marrying her partner of ten years, Charlie Gardner, had to take her shoes off and was helped to walk down the rocky aisle by her parents.

Singer Charlie, 31, looked stunning in a formal gown with a corset, long gloves, a full skirt, and a veil. However, she went barefoot for photos on the beach, while her partner chose to wear sneakers.

You know, I always say authenticity is key, and it was interesting to see how Gareth handled the ceremony. He kept his shoe covers on, which is totally understandable! But then, once everyone left the beach, he relaxed and happily posed with Charlie, showing off his lovely beige loafers. It just goes to show, it’s okay to switch between practical and personal style – embrace both!

Allana’s outfit was unusual – she paired comfortable shoes with a very revealing dress.

Becky took off her shoes while posing for photos on the rocks, setting them down in front of Charlie.

As a wedding expert, I always love seeing the bouquet toss! Becky sent hers flying, and it was so fun to watch all her guests playfully try to catch it – it’s such a sweet and classic tradition, and everyone always gets so into it!

The wedding took place at the luxurious Meudon Hotel, almost four years after she announced he had proposed during a trip to the Maldives.

The singer shared the exciting news with a series of photos and a playful caption: ‘Turns out he actually likes me!’ She also included a diamond ring emoji.

Becky and Charlie have been a couple for a decade. Becky is a successful musician with many hit songs, while Charlie works behind the scenes in event planning and prefers to stay out of the public eye.

Becky’s recent engagement follows her interview with the Daily Mail, where she shared that traveling internationally is particularly challenging because of outdated views on her sexual orientation.

Gareth and Allana began publicly dating on Instagram in July 2023, following his breakup with Chloe McLennan. They first met in 2022 while performing together in a production of Jack and the Beanstalk.
