Garcelle Beauvais is leaving ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’: ‘It’s been a wild ride’
Garcelle Beauvais is done with “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
She expressed in a video shared on Tuesday that the journey has been quite an adventure with both incredible and challenging moments. Yet, it’s been a journey regardless. In closing, she mentioned her eagerness for upcoming endeavors, which seem extremely thrilling. Her caption read, “TO THE NEXT STAGE IN LIFE!
Travel & Experiences
Following the destructive Palisades fire, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star discusses the emotional significance of her Malibu house, as well as Los Angeles spots that offer her a glimmer of optimism and happiness.
As a passionate film enthusiast looking back, I find myself reflecting on my journey as the first Black woman to grace the “RHOBH” cast when I joined the show in 2020. Now, I bid farewell to the permanent members – Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, Kyle Richards, Sutton Stracke and Bozoma Saint John – who have been my co-stars through thick and thin. Additionally, I also leave behind the cherished friendships of Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly, who have graced our screens as part-time friends of the show.
In the mid-1980s, Beauvais shifted from modeling to acting, making debut appearances on shows like “Miami Vice” and “The Cosby Show.” Over time, she built a substantial career with recurring roles on series such as “NYPD Blue,” “Franklin & Bash,” and “The Jamie Foxx Show,” as well as parts in films like “Coming 2 America” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” However, her manager advised her against taking the opportunity presented by the “Housewives” franchise, according to an interview she gave to The Times in November.
Instead, the single mother of three sons — one of whom is grown — jumped in with both feet.
The influence of this program stretches wide and diverse, something I hadn’t anticipated. I was taken aback by its scope, the level of fan involvement. A friend of mine texted me during my initial season. She said, “You’re trending.” For what? I had done numerous things, collaborated with some remarkable figures in the industry. However, it wasn’t until this show that everything took off. This statement was made by the Haitian actor-producer to The Times in November.

Television
Actress Garçelle Beauvais shares that her teenage son, Jax, will not be featured in the upcoming season of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” following a period of two years since he endured racist remarks from internet bullies.
As a devoted cinephile, let me share an honest perspective: The 2022 season wasn’t all sunshine and butterflies, no way. My teenage son, Jax (yep, one of the twins), felt overwhelmed by the spotlight and opted for a temporary hiatus. Last August, he expressed his feelings on my Instagram, stating, “I didn’t expect middle-aged women to bombard me with offensive and racially insensitive comments about my family during my first week at high school.
Despite the demands of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Beauvais has remained authentic to herself, as confirmed by executive producer Andy Cohen in an interview with The Times in November.
He agreed and expressed empathy, both as an observer and a parent, with what she discusses about raising her sons. Moreover, in terms of group dynamics, she openly expresses her emotions and thoughts without hesitation, which he considers a key trait of an exceptional ‘Housewife’.
By the way, fans, Beauvais and Cohen appear to be parting ways on good terms.
In yesterday’s video, I shared that Andy extended an invitation for me to drop by anytime, emphasizing that his door is perpetually ajar for my return.
