GamingonPhone Editorial Team shares their favourite mobile games of 2024

As a seasoned mobile gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that 2024 was a remarkable year for mobile gaming. Among all the games I had the pleasure of playing, one title truly stood out – Fall Guys.

Being a fan of party games and someone who enjoys a good laugh with friends, Fall Guys was an instant hit for me. With its simple yet addictive gameplay mechanics, it’s no wonder that the game quickly took over our living rooms and Discord chats. The hilarious blunders we made during matches were often more entertaining than winning itself!

What makes Fall Guys even more special is its accessibility. It’s a game that can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of their gaming experience or skill level. And let’s not forget the adorable jellybean characters – they’re just too cute to resist!

All in all, 2024 was an incredible year for mobile gaming, but Fall Guys will always hold a special place in my heart as one of the most entertaining and enjoyable games I’ve ever played. And who knows? Maybe someday we’ll even have our very own Fall Guys championship!

On a lighter note, I just hope that when they release the “Grumpy Cat” skin, I won’t be the only one running around like a jellybean with an attitude problem! 😉

As 2024 comes to a close, I can’t help but exclaim “Wow, what a year for mobile gaming!”. With its ups and downs, the entire spectrum of genres was explored, making for an enjoyable experience for gamers. Before we embark on the new year, I wanted to highlight the game that stood out to me most in 2024, but the GamingonPhone Editorial Team also has their own top picks from this year’s mobile games. Among the mobile games released in 2024, Zenless Zone Zero stands out as my top pick. Initially, it didn’t make the strongest debut, but swift improvements followed, leading to its smooth operation ever since. Regular updates have enriched the game, introducing fresh content and innovative features that keep things engaging. As a dedicated follower of Hoyoverse, I am captivated by the diverse characters they’ve crafted. Each character boasts a distinct personality and combat style, making it an enjoyable experience to explore and tinker with them.

As a long-time gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Zenless Zone Zero has truly captured my attention and enthusiasm. The combat system is, without a doubt, one of the most satisfying experiences I’ve had in recent years. The ability to pull off combos and counterattacks feels incredibly rewarding, and the sensation of a well-executed move is simply unparalleled.

The fluidity of the combat mechanics makes battles feel more immersive and engaging, making it easy for me to lose track of time as I become engrossed in the action. The game’s visually stunning futuristic world adds an extra layer of excitement and wonderment that only enhances my overall enjoyment.

Having played countless games over the years, I can confidently say that Zenless Zone Zero has quickly risen to the top of my favorites list. It’s a game I find myself eagerly anticipating each day, looking forward to diving back into its captivating world. This year has already been filled with fantastic releases, but Zenless Zone Zero stands out as one that I’ll keep playing throughout it.

Favourite Mobile Game of 2024: Archero 2

GamingonPhone Editorial Team shares their favourite mobile games of 2024

This past year, after spending many years immersed in competitive gaming, particularly Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, I chose to step away from that realm and explore some engaging casual games instead. Among them, the one that brought me the most pleasure was Archero 2, a sequel to the well-known hybrid casual game, Archero. I found myself captivated by its roguelike elements, featuring 50 main chapters and an abundance of additional challenges and game modes.

The initial levels of this game are quite straightforward, but it soon becomes more difficult with numerous boss fights. With its enhanced graphics, charming characters, intuitive user design, easy-to-grasp controls, and an abundance of additional content, the game offers a delightful and engaging gaming experience, ideal for playing during short breaks.

GamingonPhone Editorial Team shares their favourite mobile games of 2024

2024 saw a host of captivating mobile games launching for the first time. I made an effort to play as many as I could from that list, but it was Pokémon TCG Pocket that really grabbed my interest. As a long-time Pokémon enthusiast since my childhood, this game brought back memories of when I used to trade physical Pokémon cards with friends.

The captivating card designs and intuitive layout really grab your attention with Pokémon TCG Pocket. Its simple-to-grasp nature makes it especially enticing for newcomers, elevating its appeal significantly. With all these appealing qualities, it’s certainly deserving of a top spot on my must-play list for 2024.

Favorite Mobile Game of 2024: FC Empires

GamingonPhone Editorial Team shares their favourite mobile games of 2024

2024 was an exciting mix of successes and setbacks in my mobile gaming journey, particularly with football games, given my passion for soccer. As a dedicated soccer fan and mobile gamer, I’m always on the lookout for the perfect blend of these two worlds, and 2024 didn’t fall short in offering some great options.

In the soccer simulation genre, there weren’t many major new releases last year because popular games like FC Mobile, eFootball, and DLS were only receiving season updates. I was eager to see what management titles had in store, but I was let down when Soccer Manager 2025 didn’t make a strong impact and Football Manager 25 was delayed. However, towards the end of 2024, EA’s FC Empires came out and it really stood out for me as something special.

In simple terms, the game FC Empires offers a realistic soccer management simulation experience, complete with authentic club licenses. This means you get to manage real players and teams. You can develop your facilities, see your team grow stronger, and expand your fanbase. Extra touches like the opposing team’s bus arriving at your stadium before kick-off add to the matchday excitement. Despite some areas needing improvement, I think FC Empires could potentially fill the void left by the old FIFA Manager series.

Favourite Mobile Game of 2024: Fall Guys

GamingonPhone Editorial Team shares their favourite mobile games of 2024

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve played countless games that promise camaraderie and endless fun, but few have managed to captivate me quite like co-op games. Among these interactive delights, party games hold a special place in my heart – they never fail to bring a smile to my face.

This year, among the multitude of titles I’ve tried and tested, Fall Guys has undeniably earned the title of my favourite game of 2024. My first encounter with this chaotic delight was on PC, an experience that left me exhilarated and eager for more. However, it wasn’t until the game made its grand entrance onto mobile devices that the true magic unfolded – because, let’s be honest, playing Fall Guys alone just doesn’t compare to the joy of sharing the mayhem with friends!

Initially, all my friends got involved, transforming each gathering into an uproarious mix of jumping, dodging, and tumbling in the most absurd manners. The banter over who was responsible for a team loss is side-splittingly funny. What makes this game so endearing is its straightforwardness; anyone can grasp it and participate. Indeed, certain levels recur, but each round feels like a thrilling, unforeseeable ride. As I type this, my Discord has already announced, “Let the party begin!

Favourite Mobile Game of 2024: Honor of Kings

GamingonPhone Editorial Team shares their favourite mobile games of 2024

2024 brought a blend of feelings as a mobile gamer for me, with moments of joy and disappointment. Among the games I encountered, some exceptional ones surfaced; however, one game that particularly caught my attention was “Honor of Kings.

Being an ardent fan of mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games, I was thoroughly impressed by the game’s high-quality production. Its graphically impressive visuals and seamless gameplay mechanics made Honor of Kings seem incredibly well-crafted. It’s not surprising that this game has held the top spot in China’s revenue rankings for many years.

In my opinion, Honor of Kings stood out among other games by offering a deeply immersive and competitive experience that’s gratifying for those who dedicate time to master it. Unfortunately, Arena of Valor didn’t quite capture the same level of success as Honor of Kings outside China. However, I sincerely hope this game manages to gain international recognition and acclaim.
