Wow, can’t believe it’s been six years already! I, as a gamer myself, have been on this amazing ride with GamingonPhone. From our humble start to now being a go-to source for all things mobile gaming, the past year has been nothing short of extraordinary. Truly, it’s celebration time!

It’s astonishing to reflect on my journey – from being a puzzled engineering student to finding myself immersed in the world of GamingonPhone. Now, six years later, I find myself penning this anniversary article for GamingonPhone, sporting a more robust beard and an even greater passion for mobile gaming. Time truly flies by.

A year packed with milestones

I’d like to boast a bit: The year 2024 and the beginning of 2025 were brimming with remarkable accomplishments. We had the privilege of organizing the second annual edition of the GamingonPhone Conference (GPC) online in September 2024, which attracted developers, publishers, and key figures from every corner of the globe.

As a gamer, I was blown away by the turnout at the 2nd edition! Over 300 enthusiasts, hailing from around 200 different gaming companies, joined in on the action. Plus, we heard from an impressive lineup of over 45 speakers who shared their insights and expertise. It was a real game-changer for the community!

Boosting the thrill, we secured another consecutive nomination for “Coverage Platform of the Year” at the Mobile Gaming Awards (Mobies). To top it off, the GamingonPhone Awards 2024 marked a record-breaking event for us.

Boasting more than 15 million impressions, over half a million votes, and showcasing the crème de la crème of mobile gaming in 30 diverse categories, the GamingonPhone Awards 2024 served as a vibrant testament to the immense creativity within the global gaming community. This event clearly demonstrated the fervor and passion that unites gamers worldwide.

Expanding the GamingonPhone universe

One significant milestone achieved this year was the debut in February 2025 of our dedicated platform, GamingonPhoneBiz.com, which exclusively caters to the business aspects of mobile gaming. Recognizing the industry’s continuous growth into a billion-dollar juggernaut, we believed it was essential to shine a light on the captivating business narratives behind this thriving sector.

After that, we hosted our third conference, GPC 2025, on May 27th. This edition was larger than any before it! The focus of GPC Online 2025 (our 3rd edition) lies particularly on China, Japan, and South Korea. We welcomed over 500 attendees, had more than 200 participating companies, and featured an impressive lineup of 45+ speakers.

A big, ambitious leap

This year’s exciting news: The GamingonPhone Awards 2025 is transitioning to a hybrid format with both offline and global participation! For the first time, this year’s ceremony will take place in person, coinciding with an online event, in the bustling city of Bangkok, Thailand.

Absolutely! Following four extraordinary digital events, we’re excitedly bringing together developers, enthusiasts, and influential figures from the industry all in the same place. Now that nominations have started, we’re preparing for this fifth edition to stand out as an unforgettable experience, aiming high with our ambitious goals.

Looking ahead with joy, hope, and some caffeine

After six years, it seems as though we’ve barely scratched the surface of what we can achieve. The unwavering backing from our audience, associates, and the dynamic mobile gaming community continues to fuel our passion. They consistently astound us with their growth and innovation.

Our team is passionately committed to maintaining the vibrancy of mobile gaming media. Each article, news item, or editorial we produce stems from our eagerness and devotion. We’re constantly learning, sharing worthwhile insights, and growing as we write each word.

It’s equally crucial to recognize the challenging aspects of this field. This year, the gaming industry has experienced a significant number of employee dismissals, causing hardship for numerous skilled individuals. Furthermore, we’re witnessing closures of several high-profile games, adding to the industry’s difficulties.

I must admit, this path hasn’t been a walk in the park; it’s more like navigating through rough terrain than slicing through butter with a knife. However, we’ve managed to make it this far. It seems that the obstacles and challenges we’ve encountered might just be shaping us into something stronger and more resilient.
