Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominates at the Thailand Game Awards
The Thailand Game Awards concluded with a focus on what players wanted, letting their votes decide the winners. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was the big winner, taking home four awards, including Game of the Year, which really highlights the growing importance of Thai gamers. It’s inspired me to play the game again!

HoYoverse had a successful night at the GamingonPhone Awards 2025, winning Best Game Publisher. Their game, Honkai: Star Rail, was named Best Ongoing Game, and Umamusume: Pretty Derby, previously voted Players’ Choice Game Of The Year, also took home the award for Best Mobile Game. The company received multiple accolades overall.
Minister Supajee Suthamphan’s take on creativity and soft power
At the event’s closing, Thailand’s Commerce Minister, Supajee Suthamphan, shared a moving message about the event’s innovative energy. She highlighted the collaboration between parents and children who created the game, calling it a powerful example of creativity across different generations.

She also expressed her admiration for how many game developers, even those not from Thailand, have showcased the country’s beauty and distinctiveness in their games. She believes this is a genuine example of soft power, letting people all over the world learn about and appreciate Thailand through engaging gameplay.
Thailand’s growing gaming economy takes the spotlight
The Minister announced that the event has already generated over 1.22 billion baht in deals, with an additional 1 billion baht expected in the next 2 to 5 years.

It’s exciting to see gaming’s growing impact on Thailand’s culture and economy, and this event was a great example of how it’s helping Thai game developers reach a worldwide audience.
Global leaders also reflected on a bright future
Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director & VP Asia-Pacific at Koelnmesse, also expressed his enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the incredible passion and creativity on display. He emphasized the strong collaboration between fans, creators, publishers, investors, and developers, and stated that the event has a bright future: “We’re building something truly special, and we’re committed to growing this event with all of our partners.”
The event ended on a high note, feeling like a promising beginning for the future. Plans are already underway for the next edition, which will be held in Bangkok from October 29th to November 1st, 2026, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it develops!
