A Cinematic opening and a legendary honor

Day 2 kicked off with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Glenn Schofield, the creative force behind games like Dead Space and Call of Duty. He received the award for his significant contributions to the industry and inspiring leadership, and the audience gave him a standing ovation, creating a really exciting atmosphere for the rest of the event.

The show floor was buzzing with big names like CAPCOM, Bandai Namco, and GCL, creating a fantastic atmosphere and really showcasing the best in gaming.

Behind the scenes of the Islands of Hearts

I especially enjoyed the live panel with the people behind Islands of Hearts, the new project from 4Divinity and Titan Media. It was a great opportunity for fans to learn about how the project was developed.

Pitch competition winners shine bright

The highly awaited Pitch Competition concluded with several standout victories. MVRX Games from Sweden earned the Best Visual award for their game, Dew, and Kotakoren Games of Malaysia won Best Game Design for Of Blood and Descend.

In addition to the other winners, Mudtek from the USA was named the Most Anticipated Game for Dimraeth. Each winning team received $1,500 to help them continue working on their games, which I thought was really encouraging.

A candid session on women shaping the AAA landscape

Meghan Morgan Juinio, previously with Santa Monica Studio in the USA, and Fleur Marty from Gearbox in Canada, gave an inspiring presentation about the growing role of women in leading the way for big-budget game development.

Marvel Rivals unveils its new Marvel Zombies PvE mode

Marvel Games recently announced a new mode for Marvel Rivals called Marvel Zombies. Revealed by Danny Koo, this will be the first player-versus-environment (PvE) experience in the game. Players worldwide can start battling zombie waves and challenging bosses like Zombie Namor and the Queen of the Dead on October 23rd.

As a Marvel enthusiast, I was really excited by this announcement, particularly the details about Marvel Rivals and how it plans to feature some of the more obscure heroes in the game.
