Gameloft is re-releasing its puzzle adventure game, Carmen Sandiego, on iOS devices starting November 19th. The game originally launched in January as a Netflix exclusive after being announced in September 2024, but was later removed from the platform in July along with 21 other games.

Carmen Sandiego initially returned to mobile devices as a new version of the classic game through Netflix Games. Although Netflix unfortunately cancelled it, Gameloft is now reviving the game, which is great news for mobile fans. It’s good they didn’t abandon the platform!

Okay, so for anyone who hasn’t heard of it, this game lets you be Carmen Sandiego! It’s a puzzle adventure where I get to play as the famous thief. The story starts with VILE popping up again, and I’m actually working with ACME for a bit to try and stop them before they pull off some massive heist.

Even though the game was taken down suddenly, I’m still really looking forward to experiencing the real-world settings like Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. It’s just fun to find clues and secrets in those lively cities, especially with how realistic and beautiful they look.

What I love most is the variety of tools and gadgets available – you can glide across rooftops or swing between buildings! Plus, you can switch between night vision, UV, and thermal views, just like a spy, to find suspects and hidden clues. It’s a really enjoyable experience with interviews, a detailed 3D world, fun mini-games, and lots more.

I’m so excited! It looks like Carmen Sandiego is finally coming to iOS devices! You can actually pre-register for it on the App Store right now. The listing says it’ll be released on November 19th, and it’s going to be just $4.99! Sadly, if you’re an Android user like me, we’ll have to be patient – there’s no news yet on when it’s coming to our phones.
