Game of Thrones vet Jack Gleeson (Joffrey) looks unrecognizable in new period drama

As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of both television and history, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation as Jack Gleeson makes his grand return to our screens. Having grown up with Joffrey Baratheon, I must admit that it was quite refreshing to see him meet an untimely end on Game of Thrones, but I have always admired the depth and versatility that he brought to his roles.

For four seasons, Jack Gleeson portrayed the detested character King Joffrey Baratheon on the television show “Game of Thrones.” Known for his cruel and loathsome behavior, audiences rejoiced when his character met an untimely end at his wedding. Following this role, Gleeson gained widespread recognition, but being renowned as a haughty, sadistic antagonist is likely not the type of fame most people aspire to. It’s possible that this is one reason behind Gleeson’s decision to stay out of the spotlight for some time after leaving the series. One can only speculate about the unpleasant roles he was approached for in the interim.

After the conclusion of “Game of Thrones” some time ago, actor Gleeson is making a comeback to acting – a development we’re excited about since he’s quite gifted. Next year, you can see him in the second season of “The Sandman”, and he’s also signed on for Steven Knight’s new series, “House of Guinness”. This show focuses on the challenges faced by the famous Guinness family, who are known for their popular beer brand.

Similar to “Peaky Blinders”, “House of Guinness” is a drama series, but instead of being set in the early 20th century like its counterpart, it transports us back to the 19th century. This change in era brings about an exciting opportunity for the cast members to don some striking period costumes; take a look at Gleeson below, sporting a bowler hat and a dashing red-and-brown patterned waistcoat and jacket:

In a nutshell, you’ll find more of Gleeson on the actual The Daily Mail site, and he’s always sporting a pocketwatch on a chain. Although I realize that term doesn’t quite fit, I’ve been calling it steampunk – even though it may not align with the concept’s origins in 19th-century English aesthetics. House of Guinness will be providing us with this style, but I can’t help but see a sci-fi influence due to my extensive viewing in that genre.

I, Gleeson, am thrilled to step into the shoes of Byron Hughes on the upcoming series, “House of Guinness.” Joining me in this captivating tale are talented actors like Louis Partridge, Anthony Boyle, Niamh McCormack, Emily Fairn, Fionn O’Shea, and Danielle Galligan. This show promises to delve into the turbulent history of the Guinness family, filled with tragic deaths and scandalous affairs, making it an unmissable watch. As for when we can expect this drama unfold, the release date remains undisclosed for now.
