Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon stars cross over at London Comic Con

As a seasoned critic with a penchant for all things fantasy and a soft spot for the realm of Westeros, I must say that my recent sojourn at London Comic Con was nothing short of a dragon-filled delight! The opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the most esteemed actors from Game of Thrones spinoff series House of the Dragon was an experience truly unparalleled.

Over the past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the chilly yet exhilarating winter edition of London Comic Con. Notable attendees included Ncuti Gatwa, best known for his role as the Doctor in “Doctor Who,” and Michael Sheen, who charmed us all in “Good Omens.

Liberty, Bennet and Bew are depicted as dragonseed peasants who transformed into dragon-riders following Rhaenyra Targaryen’s initiative to let them attempt riding the riderless dragons at Dragonstone. (If only so many others had their fortune as they did.) Clinton Liberty shared an Instagram post featuring the entire cast of ‘House of the Dragon’ together at the convention.

Beyond this, Liberty also encountered Natalie Dormer, famously known for portraying Queen Margaery Tyrell in ‘Game of Thrones’. A photograph with her was also taken by him.

Given that the series “House of the Dragon” takes place more than a century prior to “Game of Thrones“, it could very well be one of our rare opportunities for a connection or overlap between these stories.

By the way, we’ll add a photo of Michael Sheen alongside Liberty, as they were both busy snapping pictures with attendees at that convention.

Addam, played by Liberty, will reappear in the third season of “House of the Dragon” when it airs on HBO and Max, likely in 2024. Characters Bew and Bennett, portraying Ulf and Hugh, are set to stir up trouble as they now control dragons. Sadly, Laenor, played by Theo Nate, will not return to the storyline. Dormer, who was previously on “Game of Thrones”, has been keeping busy with new projects like TV shows titled “White Lies” and “Inside No. 9”, as well as a movie called “Audrey’s Children”.
