As a seasoned Pokémon GO trainer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the Galarian Expedition event has me absolutely buzzing! The prospect of encountering Shiny Galarian Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres is a dream come true. It’s like Christmas in October for us dedicated trainers!
Shiny Galarian Birds are finally here in Pokémon GO.
In Pokémon GO, the long-awaited Galarian Expedition is set to bring the elusive Shiny versions of the Galarian birds into play. Additionally, this event will debut the Shiny form of Zamazenta too!
The Galarian Expedition in Pokémon GO takes place from Friday, October 4, through to Friday, October 11. This special event begins at 10 a.m. local time and concludes at 8 p.m. local time.

Shiny Galarian birds to debut in Pokémon GO
Finally! For the first time in Pokémon GO, you may encounter Shiny Galarian Articuno, Shiny Galarian Zapdos, and Shiny Galarian Moltres if fortune favors you. Additionally, there will be a rearrangement of the types of Pokémon that appear when using Daily Adventure Incense. This change begins with the start of this event and will be permanent.

The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild.
- Nidoran♂*
- Nidoran♀*
- Abra*
- Magnemite*
- Wailmer*
- Spheal*
- Aron*
- Beldum*
- Shinx*
- Foongus*
- Dedenne*
- Wooloo*
Some Trainers might even encounter the following!
- Chansey*
- Absol*
- Emolga*
Be on the lookout for Foongus during the event, as catching it rewards additional Stardust. Moreover, Shinx is set to appear in the wild for the first time in a while, so don’t forget to watch out for that too!
Galarian Expedition Pokémon GO Raids
During this special occasion, exclusively dedicated to Raid Pokémon, you’ll find an exceptional event unfolding. For the first time ever in Pokémon GO, and indeed any Pokémon game thus far, Zamazenta will make its appearance in a radiant, shiny form. It’s not just a dazzling introduction for Zamazenta in Pokémon GO, but a historic debut across all Pokémon games.
