Gaimin Gladiators crowns as Riyadh Masters 2024 Champions

As a long-time fan of Dota 2 and a fervent supporter of Gaimin Gladiators, I can’t help but feel elated as I reflect upon their recent victory at the Riyadh Masters 2024. Let me take you back to 2023 when Xtreme Gaming were still on their developmental journey, and Team Liquid was the one owning everyone. The stage was set for an epic Grand Final showdown between these two titans of Dota 2.

Gaimin Gladiators are your 2024 Riyadh Masters champions.

In 2023, Xtreme Gaming was still in the process of being built as a team. The Falcons hadn’t yet risen to prominence. And, inevitably, the Gaimin Gladiators were set to face off against Team Liquid in the championship game.

In this year’s competition, Team Liquid experienced an astonishing turnaround. Starting from the elimination brackets, they shocked everyone by defeating the favored team, Falcons. They then advanced all the way to the Grand Final. Eager to repeat their successful strategies from the lower brackets, Team Liquid gave it their all in the championship game. Regrettably, they were bested once again, this time by Gaimin Gladiators, who emerged as the Riyadh Masters 2024 Champions.

Match 1: A stomp by GG

At the beginning of their match against their age-old enemies, Gaming Gladiators displayed tremendous strength. In just under thirty minutes, they chose to play with Chen, a hero that numerous teams often prevent them from using. Team Liquid struggled to keep up and ultimately surrendered during a team fight close to a Tier 1 tower.

Match 2: Alchemist + Broodmother is nasty

In the second match, it wasn’t about the intense teamfights or dominating our opponents right from the start. Instead, it was a test of endurance for the Gaimin Gladiators as they meticulously planned to claim the title of Riyadh Masters 2024 Champions. We controlled the pace, squeezing Team Liquid out of the game for approximately twenty minutes. Their comeback attempt was foiled once Mega Creeps came into play, leaving us with ample space to farm uncontested. The map was swarming with broodlings and a plump Alchemist, providing us with an endless supply of resources.

Match 3: Back to stomping

I’ve been following the eSports scene closely for years now, and I must say, the last match we witnessed was a cakewalk for the winning team. From the get-go, GG caught us off guard with an early team wipe after Team Liquid’s failed attempt to secure a kill on tOfu. The momentum swung heavily in their favor, leaving us struggling to keep up.

The Gaimin Gladiators claimed the title of Riyadh Masters 2024 Champions by outmaneuvering Team Liquid during their final surprise attack. Initiating the clash was “Quinn” Callaham, leaving Liquid without a chance to respond.

How many Grand Finals have Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators played?

European Dota 2 teams have ruled the scene for years. However, the intense competition between these two teams during the year 2023 brought about an electrifying rivalry. Their impressive displays of skill kept fans on the edge of their seats, but in the end, it was consistently team GG that came out on top.
