Gabe Kidd is a major player who NJPW will capitalize on

As a seasoned gamer who has witnessed the ebb and flow of professional wrestling over the years, I must say, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) has been on quite a journey lately. The rise of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and the global pandemic have left their mark, but amidst the chaos, a new star is emerging – Gabe Kidd.

For several years now, New Japan Pro Wrestling has been compelled to revamp its operations. The arrival of All Elite Wrestling and the COVID-19 pandemic have both left significant, ongoing marks on the organization, as seen by many. A major challenge they faced was rejuvenating a roster that had come to depend rather heavily on international talent to spearhead their main events. As New Japan Pro Wrestling has been evolving, Gabe Kidd has emerged as an up-and-coming figure who looks poised to play a crucial role in the near term.

Swiftly rising through the ranks, Kidd now stands as one of those despised villains that New Japan excels at showcasing, captivating both local and global wrestling enthusiasts. His tenure as a Young Lion laid the foundation for his presence in NJPW, but joining the Bullet Club catalyzed his ascent to unprecedented heights. Although David Finlay is recognized as the leader, Kidd appears to be the most promising superstar with the greatest potential for stardom.

At just 27 years old, Kidd boasts a remarkable 12 years of wrestling experience under his belt. Throughout this journey, he’s showcased his skills in some of the most prominent independent wrestling organizations. These include GCW, CMLL, Rev Pro, DEFY, and many others. In early 2024, New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) was fortunate to re-sign Kidd for a longer contract, timed perfectly as his popularity was on the rise. This increase in attention has made him a more attractive figure to other organizations that have been luring talent away from Japan.

“That’s a private matter between me and them, however, I can share this – we’re discussing large sums of money, lots of large sums of money were given out. That’s about all I want to say on the subject. I don’t concern myself with the details of when the fight was or when my contract expired. What I received and will continue to receive is substantial amounts of money. I’m satisfied.”

Securing him with a fresh contract was indeed an astute decision, given his escalating prominence within our company. It’s quite possible that Kidd might claim the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship title in the coming two years. His career trajectory is clearly on the rise, and winning such a prestigious title would significantly bolster his professional accomplishments.
