“G2Gether” strikes again, NOVA Esports can’t keep up at GCC 2025

Wow, G2 Gozen absolutely dominated NOVA Esports GC on day three of the 2025 Game Changers Championship! It was a clean sweep, which means NOVA is heading to the Lower Bracket now. I was really impressed with G2’s performance!

G2 Gozen boasts a team full of seasoned players, plus a promising newcomer eager to compete. Many fans admire G2’s Michaela “mimi” Lintrup and Petra “Petra” Stoker, who are considered role models and have collectively won an impressive ten championships, including the 2022 Game Changers Championship.

Facing NOVA Esports in their first match of the 2025 Game Changers Championship, G2 Gozen showed the power of experience. They remained calm and performed well, even under pressure.

Veteran duo anchor G2’s run with unmatched experience

When discussing G2 Gozen, it’s impossible to leave out G2 mimi and G2 Petra, often called the “G2Gether” duo. They’ve been key players since the team was created in 2021, and together they’ve won a total of ten championships – nine within their region and one on the international stage.

This team has been striving for their second Game Changers Championship title for a while now, but it’s been a tough journey. They placed third in both 2023 and 2024, just missing out on beating Shopify Rebellion Gold.

G2 Gozen had a rough start to the season, failing to win any championships and losing Petra to injury for two months. This made Stage 3 look particularly challenging. However, they overcame these obstacles with a revamped team and Petra’s eventual comeback, allowing them to regain momentum. Ultimately, they won the championship, adding another title to their record and qualifying for the 2025 Game Changers Championship.

G2 Gozen cruised past Nova with a two-map victory

NOVA Esports GC surprised everyone by choosing the Corrode map, but G2 Gozen handled the challenge well. The first half was very close, with both teams winning rounds alternately. However, G2 Gozen’s skill and teamwork really showed in the second half, as they took control on offense. NOVA Esports GC couldn’t withstand the pressure.

G2 Gozen dominated the first half of the second map on Split, playing with strong confidence. Although NOVA tried to regain control and find an opening, they couldn’t capitalize on any opportunities. Ultimately, G2 Gozen won with a decisive 2-0 score.

What’s next?

G2 Gozen is still in the running for the championship after winning their Upper Bracket match and will now compete against Team Liquid Brazil for a place in the semifinals. NOVA Esports, however, has dropped to the Lower Bracket and will face the team that loses the upcoming match between Shopify Rebellion and Karmine Corp. This is a crucial match for NOVA Esports, as a loss would eliminate them from the tournament.
