As a gaming enthusiast, scoring this win with G2 Esports feels fantastic, not just for me, but for the whole Counter-Strike community. It’s true that you don’t have to be an ardent supporter of their organization to appreciate this success. Rather than seeing a single team dominating once more, we now get to witness fierce competition among several top teams, all vying for championship trophies.
The entire Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament proved to be quite remarkable. During the BLAST Open Fall 2025 in London, we witnessed how volatile and unforeseeable professional CS2 competition is currently. It was surprising that G2 managed to make it to the top. FURIA showcased a stellar performance. Unfortunately, Spirit once again fell short after two impressive victories at the beginning of this season.
The primary narrative yet remains the continued decline of Team Vitality. Following their victory over MOUZ, who were on a losing streak, it seemed that Vitality had reclaimed their dominant position. However, as conversations about Vitality’s resurgence began to circulate, G2 Esports proved victorious in a grueling championship match, challenging the status quo once again.
For the champions themselves, this victory is incredibly significant. G2, as an esports organization, regained the trust of their supporters – a move made all the more impressive following the departure of two crucial players earlier in the year. The current team demonstrated their ability to work exceptionally well together and deliver jaw-dropping individual performances under pressure.
At BLAST Open Fall 2025 in London, G2’s journey was far from smooth, making their triumph all the more significant.

From the losers brackets to big eliminations
At first, it didn’t seem like G2 Esports would have a successful tournament. During the online qualifier for BLAST London, they suffered a defeat in their first game against Team Liquid.
In a short span, the grim atmosphere began to lift as G2 got an opportunity to showcase their skills in high-stakes games. While eliminating FlyQuest might not seem impressive now, defeating Team Spirit in the final of the lower bracket within their group was indeed significant.

During the BLAST Open Fall 2025 Playoffs, G2 initially faced off against competitors who matched their usual level of achievement.
Despite initially performing well in tournaments, reaching the quarterfinals by defeating NAVI and giving Vitality a tough time, FaZe players consistently falter under high-stress situations. Their match against G2 was particularly disappointing as they could barely hold their ground, managing only an overtime game on Dust II in an attempt to stay competitive.

During the online qualifier, FURIA demonstrated outstanding performance, ending the stage as the top team in their group. Spirit and MOUZ were their unfortunate opponents, both falling to FURIA with decisive scores of 2-0.

Denying Vitality’s era
In the grand finale of BLAST London 2025, spectators didn’t anticipate any unexpected outcomes. Given that Vitality had outplayed MOUZ, it was assumed they were about to secure another tournament victory – a feat well-known for this exceptional team. However, G2 Esports had other plans up their sleeves.
On Dust II, G2 expressed their aspirations with a score of 13:3. Few teams stand a chance against Vitality when they play like this.

Vitality seemingly recovered on Mirage and Overpass to reach the tournament point.

As the spectators once again envisioned Vitality triumphantly lifting the trophy, G2 showcased an extraordinary comeback on Inferno, ultimately securing the win in overtime. The final map served as a one-way ticket to the precipice of defeat for Vitality on Train.
Team Vitality: Downfall?
After winning the Austin Major, Team Vitality couldn’t reach big grand finals.
- Vitality lost to MOUZ in the semifinal of IEM Cologne 2025
- The MongolZ defeated Vitality in the semifinal of BLAST Bounty Fall 2025
- Vitality failed once again to win over The MongolZ in the semi of the CS2 EWC 2025, and the Falcons defeated them in the 3rd-place match.
At BLAST London, Team Vitality emerged victorious over MOUZ, providing an uplifting moment not just for the team but also for their loyal supporters. But let me tell you, the group stage contests were far from a breeze.
Energy encountered several fairly formidable rivals, yet experienced difficulties in every encounter. The ultimate outcome was satisfactory, but the journey was challenging.
Beating G2 by Vitality seems like another tough setback. But it doesn’t wipe out their aspirations to dominate! Their team is extraordinary, so let’s look forward to the next CS2 esports event where Vitality will be competing.

MOUZ may need changes
The defeat in the semi-final against Vitality has highlighted a significant problem with MOUZ’s current setup, as they seem to struggle consistently when it comes to winning tournaments. Regardless of their efforts, there are usually more formidable teams that hinder their progress.
- Spirit at IEM Cologne 2025 and BLAST Bounty Fall 2025
- Falcons at the CS2 Esports World Cup 2025
Following the London grand final, MOUZ’s coach, Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen, appeared visibly upset. It seems that some adjustments may be imminent, and these modifications might not necessarily involve the team’s roster; instead, they could pertain to certain behind-the-scenes procedures.

Spirit: To shadows
After winning two big Counter-Strike 2 esports events, Team Spirit can’t find their pace.
- They lost to HEROIC at the CS2 EWC 2025.
- Spirit could not qualify for the finals in London at BLAST Open Fall 2025. They lost to FURIA and G2.

The Fall Open BLAST tournament in 2025 did not feature the participation of some top teams, such as The MongolZ, Aurora, Team Falcons, and Team Spirit. Instead, these teams competed in FISSURE Playground #2, which took place from September 12 to September 21. Meanwhile, Vitality and MOUZ are set to compete at ESL Pro League Season 22, slated for September 27 to October 12.
It’s intriguing to observe where G2 players end up following their victories in the London tournaments, since they participate in both of them.
