A new Hulu historical drama is conquering the world.
I’m completely hooked on the new series, Love Story, on FX and Hulu! It’s been a huge hit everywhere, and I can see why. It tells the story of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s relationship and marriage, created by Ryan Murphy. It’s actually the fifth part of his American Story anthology, which is a really cool concept.
According to FlixPatrol, Love Story is now a hugely popular show on streaming and on-demand platforms. In the United States, it’s the most-watched series on Hulu as of February 17, 2026. It’s also performing well on other platforms, reaching the top spot on Apple TV and number two on Amazon’s VOD service.
The series has quickly become a global hit on Disney+, reaching the number one spot across all shows and movies on the platform, including in France and Monaco. It’s performing better than Ryan Murphy’s other current series, The Beauty, and the final season of Tell Me Lies.
As a total film buff, I’ve been keeping an eye on Love Story, and it’s getting some really great reviews! Right now, it’s ‘Certified Fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes with critics giving it an 84% rating. What’s even better is that audiences seem to love it too, with a 78% score. Everyone’s really praising how accurately the film depicts the Kennedys and how beautifully it captures their love story.
Despite its popularity, the series also received criticism for concentrating heavily on the relationship between JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, sometimes at the expense of the broader historical events surrounding them. While it draws on real history, similar to shows like American Crime Story and American Sports Story, Love Story feels different in its approach and focus.
Okay, even though I have some thoughts on the show, it’s totally grabbed people! I mean, folks here in the US and everywhere else are really getting into it. They’ve only released three episodes so far – there are going to be nine in total, dropping weekly on FX and Hulu – and honestly, the romance is just starting to heat up. I’m excited to see where it goes!
With six episodes remaining, Love Story has a good chance of staying popular on streaming platforms. As long as it continues to be a hit with viewers worldwide, it will likely remain a key part of Hulu and Disney+’s streaming offerings for the foreseeable future.
New episodes of Love Story arrive Thursdays on FX and Hulu.
