Future Ruins, Nine Inch Nails’ film-music festival, is canceled

The Future Ruins film-music festival, eagerly awaited and scheduled for November 8th, created by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, has been called off.

Organizers announced that Future Ruins will not happen this year. In a statement, they explained that several logistical problems are making it difficult to deliver the event as originally envisioned. They decided it’s better to re-think and re-evaluate their plans rather than offer a compromised experience. They apologize for any inconvenience and thank everyone for their understanding and support. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

At the Forum, Nine Inch Nails conjure rage and dread. Be afraid, Americans

Nine Inch Nails excels at capturing feelings of primal urges and deep fear. Who could be better suited to express feelings of revulsion and loneliness in today’s world? They truly understand these dark emotions.

The event, put on by Live Nation at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, was designed to be a unique live experience featuring a collection of innovative composers known for their film work. Led by members of Nine Inch Nails-who have received Academy Awards for scores like those in “The Social Network” and “Soul”-the show was set to include performances by John Carpenter, Questlove, Danny Elfman, Mark Mothersbaugh, and Hildur Guðnadóttir, as well as numerous other artists.

The festival was canceled shortly after Nine Inch Nails finished its successful “Peel It Back” tour, which included a stop at the Form last month. They are planning to return to Southern California in March of next year. Additionally, the band will perform a more club-focused version of their live show as Nine Inch Noize (alongside collaborator Boys Noize) at Coachella next year.
