Furiosa confirms streaming release date
As a seasoned gamer of both virtual worlds and real-life cinematic universes, I’ve seen my fair share of epic sagas unfold, from the battlefields of Westeros to the galaxies far, far away. And now, with “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” gracing our screens, it feels like another thrilling chapter in this grand odyssey has begun!
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has confirmed its US streaming release date.
In August 16th, the prequel movie of “Mad Max: Fury Road” will start streaming for Max subscribers. As for the UK release date, it hasn’t been specified yet. However, you can purchase or rent it digitally from platforms like iTunes, Amazon, and others.
The movie received high praise for the acting of Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, along with the imaginative action scenes skillfully directed by George Miller and his dedicated team. However, it didn’t manage to draw large audiences at the cinema.
With a production cost of $168 million, not counting marketing and distribution expenses, the movie only grossed $172.8 million in theaters.
In an interview with Digital Spy several months ago, Miller shared insights about the potential direction of the franchise. Among these discussions was a film titled “The Wasteland,” which could serve as a link between “Furiosa” and “Fury Road.”
He shared with us that while his mind has wandered about what might transpire when Furiosa reaches the peak of the Citadel, he hasn’t fully fleshed out those tales yet. There’s still a lot more to share in the Mad Max saga, he mentioned, and hinted at the potential for additional films hinging on the success of Furiosa’s financial performance.
Based on my years of experience working in the entertainment industry, I can say with confidence that it is difficult to accurately predict the success of a film like Furiosa. However, if the movie performs well and there is enough interest among audiences, I believe we should seize the opportunity and move forward with further projects related to this franchise. This could potentially lead to exciting new experiences for both the cast and crew, as well as for fans who have come to love these characters.
During the promotion of the movie, Taylor-Joy disclosed that they had filmed an alternative, even more disturbing ending, which wasn’t included in the final version. She was also fortunate enough to retain a prop from this alternative scene as a memento.
Furiosa is available for rent and purchase on digital retailers now, and comes to Max on August 16.
