FURIA skullz after successful playoff debut at BetBoom Dacha: “The sky is the limit for us”

As a dedicated fan following the thrilling journey of Brazilian CS2 team FURIA, I can confidently say that their recent streak at BetBoom Dacha is nothing short of electrifying! With Felipe “skullz” Medeiros leading the charge, this team has been unstoppable, leaving a trail of victories in their wake.

The Brazilian team have won four series in a row at BetBoom Dacha.

On August 28th in Belgrade, Serbia during the BetBoom Dacha CS2 2024 event, Felipe “skullz” Medeiros and his teammates from FURIA’s CS2 division effortlessly defeated Virtus.pro with a score of 2-0 on Wednesday.

In the $500,000 tournament, the Brazilian team is experiencing a strong comeback, displaying their finest Counter-Strike gameplay of the year so far. After an initial loss to 9 Pandas, they managed victories against Aurora, 9 Pandas, Eternal Fire, and most recently, Virtus.pro.

At present, it remains undetermined just how far Skullz and FURIA may progress at BetBoom Dacha, considering they’ll need to surmount stronger teams such as Team Spirit in order to contend for the trophy. Nevertheless, Skullz expressed optimism by saying that “the sky is the ceiling” for FURIA.

Skullz stated that our potential is boundless, but we haven’t yet determined the optimal strategy for us. We’re experimenting with numerous ideas within our team, which is quite new. There are many areas for us to enhance, but I’m quite optimistic. We’re united in this endeavor, and everyone is getting along splendidly. I believe we simply need to continue working diligently, and we’ll make significant progress.

skullz on how far FURIA can go

Tomorrow, August 29th, FURIA is set to return to the server for the upper bracket semifinals, where they will play Spirit. Here is the rest of our interview with skullz at BetBoom Dacha after their win against Virtus.pro.

FURIA defeated today Virtus.pro, who are historically a team that defeat Brazilian teams. How was the preparation for the game?

“We didn’t spend too much time strategizing against Virtus.pro in particular, opting instead to concentrate on our own gameplay for this competition. This approach seems to be paying off quite nicely. I believe FalleN made some excellent tactical decisions on Inferno and Mirage, and he also had some insightful reads regarding Jame.”

We’re seeing you pick Inferno a lot here at BetBoom Dacha instead of Nuke like in the previous tournaments. Did you come here to test Inferno or were you feeling confident already?

“From the get-go, I’ve felt that Inferno has been our top pick among maps as a team, based on statistics. Our Nuke performance is strong too, but it’s been used extensively in other competitions, which makes opponents more cautious of our strategies. Inferno, however, is a map where many teams compete, so it’s crucial to focus more on personal play rather than anticipating the enemy [anti-stratting].”

In this victory against Virtus.pro, none of you had an absurd amount of frags. It looked more like a team effort. Do you agree?

“I concur with your statement. It seems Virtus.pro is another team that tends to be conservative with kills, preferring to preserve their weapons instead. Chasing them too aggressively can often lead to losing your own weapons. I believe all players performed well in the match, and I noticed Virtus.pro was rarely spotted on Mirage, resulting in less interaction for me on that map.”
