FURIA FalleN strikes back at 9 Pandas: “They’re not that good, I’m looking forward to play them again.”

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours logged into CS:GO, I can’t help but feel a surge of adrenaline as I witness FalleN’s determination to take down 9 Pandas at BetBoom Dacha. The Brazilian team’s journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster, and their resilience in overcoming Aurora is commendable.

Fallen Bad returns, making an appearance now in Belgrade, Serbia, with a thirst for vengeance against the nine pandas stationed at BetBoom Dacha.

In a bid for redemption, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, captain of FURIA, is eager to settle the score against 9 Pandas during the BetBoom Dacha CS2 2024 tournament, following their defeat in their initial encounter.

The Brazilian squad has advanced in the tournament after securing a tough 2-1 triumph against Aurora on August 26 during the play-in round. FalleN hopes to face team 9 Pandas once more since their captain, Aleksandr “shalfey,” told HLTV that defeating FURIA was not considered a significant victory by them.

If the 9 Pandas fail to defeat Eternal Fire in their upcoming match today, this specific showdown tomorrow will transpire, marking a thrilling encounter as both teams would be vying for the sole playoff position left open, and aiming to steer clear of expulsion from BetBoom Dacha.

Explore the insights provided by FalleN regarding the possibility of encountering Team Panda for a second time, along with his reflections on overcoming Aurora. During a post-game interview conducted by Xpsp in Belgrade, Serbia, these topics were discussed.

Post-match interview with FURIA FalleN

FURIA played better today against Aurora and avoided the elimination from BetBoom Dacha. How’s the confidence for the rest of the tournament?

“I think today’s win marks the beginning of our return to top form, as we aimed from the start. Our self-assurance has certainly grown; a win always feels great. However, there are areas for improvement leading into the next round. If we maintain this level of performance, I am confident that we have the ability to make it to the playoffs.”

There was a lot of back-and-forth in this series against Aurora, you lost at least one anti-eco on all three maps, and to be fair also won some economic rounds too. What’s happening in these rounds that make FURIA lose them?

In simpler terms, my strategy was to economize during the initial round by using cheaper dual pistols (Dual Berettas) instead of a more expensive sniper rifle (AWP), in hopes that the enemy team would also save their resources and not overpower us. However, I realize this could be risky and although it didn’t cause our defeat every time we used this approach, I can make some adjustments to improve our chances. These early rounds are tough, but we’ve managed to win some too. The current strength of the Tec-9 and Five-Seven makes things difficult for both teams. But I think we can play more cautiously, focusing on tighter strategies to reduce the risk of losing these rounds.

I don’t know if you saw, but shalfey, 9 Pandas’ IGL, said that beating FURIA was ‘not a big win’. Is there something you want to say to him as there’s a chance you two play again tomorrow with elimination on the line?

As a seasoned gamer myself, I find myself echoing similar sentiments. Having clinched 11 world titles under my belt, it’s disheartening to be facing off against nine Pandas and losing. It’s not that they’re terrible opponents, but I can’t help but feel a tad disappointed. I eagerly anticipate our rematch, hoping for a more evenly matched contest next time around.
