At IEM Cologne 2025, MOUZ and FURIA faced off in a tense quarterfinal matchup, where defeat was imminent for the team that lost.
MOUZ and FURIA have clashed only once in 2025, and their upcoming match at IEM Cologne 2025 will be a do-or-die scenario. Earlier in the year, MOUZ emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against FURIA during the ESL Pro League Season 21. Almost securing victory in Group B, MOUZ were halted by Team Spirit. On the other hand, FURIA’s journey to the playoffs was more challenging. After losing to G2 Esports in the initial stage of the group phase, they staged a remarkable comeback in the lower bracket. FURIA eventually knocked out G2 later in the lower bracket to qualify for the playoffs.
FURIA and MOUZ steal each other’s map at the IEM Cologne

In the initial match of the series, both teams were determined not to relinquish the early advantage. MOUZ started off strong with a score of 7-5 at the switch, but FURIA responded aggressively to equalize and force overtime. After four intense rounds in overtime, MOUZ secured the victory, thanks largely to an outstanding effort from Ádám ‘torzsi’ Torzsás. This win propels their team a step closer towards securing a top 4 position at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025.

At IEM Cologne 2025, FURIA needed an exceptional performance on Mirage to advance to a third map and maintain their chances. Despite falling behind 7-5 in the initial half for the second time, they displayed similar resilience as in the first map. Kaike ‘KSCERATO’ Cerato was instrumental this time, racking up kills that propelled FURIA ahead to double digits before MOUZ. However, MOUZ countered once more, equalizing the score at 10-10. With the tension escalating, it was essential for a player from either team to make a decisive move as both MOUF and FURIA aimed to progress in the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025.

In the past three matches, the enthusiastic roars from the spectators helped propel FURIA across the finish line, leading them into a crucial deciding match.
Inferno settles the score
At IEM Cologne 2025, one more map will be played between MOUZ and FURIA. Inferno will serve as their last opportunity to progress further in the tournament. For a third time, it was MOUZ who led 7-5 in the first half, but FURIA responded valiantly. As the game tightened up, both teams gave it their all, pushing each other to the brink.
Despite finding themselves in a tight spot, MOUZ demonstrated remarkable determination and came out on top against FURIA at IEM Cologne. In an incredibly close series, MOUZ secured a 13-11 victory on Inferno, propelling them forward to the semi-finals with a score of 2-1. The momentum of the game fluctuated continuously, but in the end, MOUZ’s tenacity earned them the win and set them up for a match against Team Vitality.
