Fuller House Stars Pitch ‘Golden Girls’-Style Sequel Set 15 Years Later

Following the initial television series, the cast gathered once more for the spin-off series titled “Fuller House”. Two key actors from both shows have shown willingness to appear in a potential third series, but viewers should not anticipate its immediate arrival.

Currently, Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) are jointly hosting a rewatch podcast for the show named “How Rude, Tanneritos!“. During their discussions on this podcast, they’ve speculated about potentially creating a third season of “Full House“, with Barber suggesting that she might be open to returning as Kimmy. Sweetin agreed, expressing a desire to make the new series resemble “The Golden Girls” by depicting Kimmy and the Tanner women in their later years, a concept she proposes waiting 15 years or so before bringing to life.

The young ones who grew up watching our show are now in their twenties, perhaps even parents themselves. This progression opens up an intriguing possibility: we could delve into a more mature, light-hearted, and slightly raucous comedy reminiscent of the beloved “Golden Girls.” I’m genuinely excited about exploring this concept further!

If a third series follows after both ‘Full House’ and ‘Fuller House’, it seems fitting that it could be titled ‘Ultimate Full House’. The cast concurs, but Barber suggests the show might emphasize more on their offspring. This poses the challenge of striking a balance in crafting the new show, ensuring the other characters remain significant while catering to the original ‘Full House’ fanbase.

She stated that the issue lies in sticking to the format, as Full House originally focused on children. However, she believes the viewers, similar to us, are more interested in the original characters.

Sweetin replied, “Yes, they’d prefer for us to reside in the same senior living community, enjoying our golden years together and even sharing a golf cart.

She went on to say that she’d enjoy watching this series herself, regardless of her involvement. She suggested sticking with it for another decade or so and maintaining the passion… It truly makes a difference knowing that fans continue to adore these characters, wanting to follow their storyline.

As a dedicated cinema enthusiast, I must confess that the uncertainty among my fellow cast members about another Full House series has been palpable. John Stamos, however, had expressed his enthusiasm for the project prior to Bob Saget’s unfortunate passing in 2022. In one of their conversations, he mentioned that without Bob, it would feel like an urn with his ashes in a window was all that was left of him on the set – a poignant and moving sentiment reflecting their deep bond.
