Frozen’s Josh Gad reveals his “big mistake” on Disney classic

As a gamer with a heart for all things Disney and a soft spot for snowmen, I must confess that Josh Gad‘s revelation about Olaf’s voice in Frozen has left me utterly bewildered. Being a seasoned player of numerous RPGs, I’ve come across countless characters with unique voices, but none have caused quite the real-world disruption that Olaf’s voice seems to have created.

In simpler terms, Josh Gad himself has shared some insights on lending his voice to the character Olaf in the movie Frozen, confessing that there was an error or misstep in the approach he took to bring the snowman to life.

At a fan gathering (as reported by The Hollywood Reporter), the star of Beauty and the Beast and Book of Mormon shared with attendees: “Given another chance, I wouldn’t have loaned my voice to that snowman. Instead, I would have crafted a unique voice for him.

It’s quite unusual when you’re in a supermarket and a small child turns their gaze slowly towards you. That incident, I now realize, was my initial significant blunder.

He mentioned that others often praise his distinctive vocal tone. Since they appear to appreciate his voice, he makes an effort to use it whenever possible, as he shared.

It was only recently that the official release date for the third “Frozen” movie was announced. Regrettably, this anticipated premiere is set more than three years into the future.

Simultaneously, Disney is currently developing a fourth movie, and Jennifer Lee will continue as its director.

It was planned that Gad would appear in another Disney sequel, a new take on the “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” series called “Shrunk”. The original director, Joe Johnston, and star, Rick Moranis, were also set to be involved, but regrettably, the project didn’t come to fruition.

Hey fellow gamers! I’ve been getting a lot of questions about this movie project I’ve been working on, so here’s the lowdown: We were almost ready to roll, but then COVID-19 came knocking. We got back up and tried again, but just as we were gearing up, my schedule suddenly became a real-life boss battle with conflicts popping up everywhere! And unfortunately, even when we thought we had enough resources, the budget proved to be an insurmountable obstacle. But if you’re as excited about this project as I am, don’t hesitate to let Disney know – your support could help us power through these challenges and bring this movie to life! 🕹️💪🏼

The 2022 production of another beloved Gad/Disney revival, titled “Little Town,” which is a spin-off of Beauty and the Beast, also experienced a pause in its development and hasn’t progressed since then.

Frozen and Frozen 2 are streaming on Disney+.
