Frozen 3 directors tease a wedding in the highly anticipated 2027 Disney sequel

Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy, who are co-directing Frozen 3, have hinted that a wedding will be featured in the new animated movie.

There was a lot of talk that Anna and Kristoff would get married in the next Disney movie, and now the directors seem to have confirmed it’s happening.

During a Disney+ special, the pair explored the World of Frozen at Disneyland Paris’ Disney Adventure World, according to Just Jared.

Oh my gosh, when I finally got to meet Anna and Elsa, I just had to ask about the wedding! I blurted out, ‘I heard there are huge wedding plans in the works!’ I was so excited, I could barely contain myself!

‘Oh, yes! I’m so excited,’ replied the woman portraying Queen Anna.

So, Correy was curious if I’d be handling the wedding planning, and I playfully dodged the question! I mentioned Olaf loves being in charge of parties in Arendelle, and he let slip that he and Kristoff were secretly working on a huge surprise for the Snowflower Festival. It’s a fun hint that maybe they’ll be helping with the wedding too – they definitely know how to throw a celebration!

Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa) and Josh Gad (Olaf) are set to return for the third movie. 

Disney announced the official release date for Frozen 3 nearly two years ago in August 2024.

The movie will hit theaters on November 24, 2027 during the Thanksgiving holiday.

As a huge fan, I was thrilled to hear the news! It’s been in the works for a while now – back in November 2023, Bob Iger, who was Disney’s CEO at the time, let us all know that they were also developing a fourth movie in the series. It’s amazing to finally get this update!

Jennifer Lee, the writer and director of both Frozen and Frozen 2, announced at a D23 event that a third Frozen movie is planned for 2027. Disney has since confirmed the release date.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited to hear that Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez – the incredible songwriters behind the music in the first two movies – are coming back for the next one! Details about the story are still a secret, but knowing they’re involved definitely gives me hope it’ll be amazing. I saw the news in a Variety report from earlier this year.

Disney first revealed plans for the third film in February 2023, and songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez had previously expressed their astonishment at the announcement.

‘They told us, the day of, and a little bit about what they’re thinking,’ the pair shared with Collider in March 2023.

Honestly, we were thrilled when we heard the news! Now it’s up to the folks in Hollywood to bring their vision to life, but we’re really excited about the direction they’re heading in.

In a November 2023 interview on Good Morning America, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that a third Frozen movie is being developed, and they’re even considering a fourth.

I don’t really have much to share about those movies at the moment. However, Jenn Lee, the director of both Frozen films, is currently working with her team at Disney Animation on two new story ideas.

The original Frozen premiered in 2013 and quickly became a box office hit.

The animated movie was highly praised by critics and earned several award nominations, including wins for Best Original Song and Best Animated Feature at the 86th Academy Awards.

Frozen 2 was released six years later in 2019 and also became a favorite among moviegoers.
