When Frostpunk graced our screens back in 2018, it was a breath of fresh air, a unique blend of strategy and storytelling that left us yearning for more. Now, the sequel is upon us, and I can’t help but feel both excited and apprehensive.

Frostpunk 2 is the follow-up to the popular 2018 game by 11 Bit Studios, titled Frostpunk as well. The sequel delves deeper into the post-apocalyptic city survival genre with increased complexity and detail. Before you decide to purchase the game, make sure your computer meets the system requirements listed as Frostpunk 2 Specifications.

1) For those using macOS, Frostpunk 2 is now playable too, opening up the chance for macBook owners to immerse themselves fully in the captivating city-builder game. Since gaming choices for mac users are often limited, this game on their Operating System will undoubtedly be a pleasant surprise for fans of Frostpunk.

Here are the minimum and recommended settings for Frostpunk 2 on macOS. 

Minimum Specifications on macOS

  • Processor: Apple M1
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Apple M1

  • Additional Notes: Recommended specs can run the game on medium settings.

For optimal performance, we recommend running the game on the most recent version of macOS and with a minimum of 16 GB RAM. The game can still function with 8GB RAM on macOS, but a larger amount will ensure smoother operation.

Starting September 20th, I’ll be diving back into the frozen wastelands with Frostpunk 2! Though it’s already available for early access to Deluxe users, I can’t wait for the official release. This time around, I’m not just a survivor, but the one holding the reins of power over a city on the brink. As I expand my city by adding colonies, I’ll need to juggle the constant dance of supply and demand to keep things running smoothly. And if that wasn’t challenging enough, maintaining citizen happiness through food provision and managing their political aspirations adds an exciting new layer to this strategic survival game.
