When does Frostpunk 2 release?

In September 2024, Frostpunk 2 will officially launch, but those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will get Early Access starting from September 17, 2024, which is three days prior to the general release date. This innovative city survival game takes the foundation laid by its predecessor and elevates it to unprecedented heights.

In the latest game, you assume the position of a Steward, responsible for overseeing and guiding your city as it faces numerous natural hardships. Similar to Frostpunk, the backdrop remains a wintry landscape, yet survival skills become even more crucial. However, in this sequel, you’ll also deal with managing multiple factions, resolving internal conflicts among personnel, and planning expansions for your city, incorporating various districts.

The eagerly anticipated sequel to Frostpunk, initially announced in 2021, is a follow-up to the 2018 original game. Unlike its predecessor, Frostpunk 2 represents a standalone title, but it offers immense opportunities for improvement through the sequel. A significant upgrade in the game comes with the inclusion of mod support, empowering the community to unleash their creativity, explore diverse scenarios, and expand the gameplay experience.

Back in April 2024, I got the chance to be among the first gamers diving into the Frostpunk 2 beta! From the 15th to the 22nd of that month, I was part of this exclusive group given early access to the game. The initial plan was for Frostpunk 2 to drop in the Summer of 2024, but due to some necessary tweaks and improvements, the developers decided to postpone its release by a few months.
