Paramount+

MobLand

In this gripping crime drama, renowned for its lineage, Guy Ritchie – best known as the director behind films like Snatch and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels – takes on several directorial roles.

In front of the camera too, we have an equally captivating tale, graced by a top-tier ensemble that includes Pierce Brosnan, Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Paddy Considine.

In simpler terms, MobLand is a narrative about two powerful criminal groups embroiled in a conflict so intense it could bring down their kingdoms and devastate countless lives.

Clearly, it’s striking a chord with viewers, as evidenced by its impressive 74% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

You can start streaming most of Season 1 right away, so it’s an ideal moment to jump in before its final episode airs on June 1st.

The Agency

This spy thriller is another Paramount+ offering that boasts a formidable A-list cast.

In this TV show produced by George Clooney, we find stars like Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, and the seasoned actor Richard Gere.

According to the highly praised French show “Le Bureau des Légendes”, the TV series “The Agency” focuses on undercover operative ‘Martian’, portrayed by Fassbender, who returns to London following a six-year mission in Africa.

When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites.

His professional life, true persona, and objectives often conflict with his emotions, resulting in both being unwillingly embroiled in a perilous adventure filled with mystery and spying.

Landman

It’s not surprising at all that Landman is striking a chord with viewers, given how popular Yellowstone has become.

In the role of a creator similar to Taylor Sheridan, who brought you the hit series Yellowstone, comes Landman. This captivating show is headlined by the powerful presence of Billy Bob Thornton.

In this raw-edged play, Sheridan departs from Montana to venture into the oilfields of West Texas, where the story unfolds around the conflict between hardworking laborers (roughnecks) and affluent tycoons (billionaires), both chasing their dreams amidst the frenzy of the oil rush.

In the given scenario, Thornton takes on the role of Tommy Norris, an oil industry professional known as a ‘Landman’ at M-TEX Oil. His superior is portrayed by John Hamm. Ali Larter appears in the series as Angela, Tommy’s unpredictable wife who is involved in wildcat activities.

Scoring a positive 8.2 on IMDB, Landman has been renewed for a second season.

Max

The Last Of Us

On the streaming scene, Max is proving itself far from complacent, consistently delivering high-quality content.

And The Last Of Us is at the head of the pack.

In its second run, this show—adapted from a widely acclaimed PlayStation game—is a can’t-miss for those who love intense zombie action and compelling personal storylines.

Initially, we find ourselves tracking the journey of Joel, a smuggler, as he escorts a 14-year-old girl named Ellie, who miraculously survived a fungal outbreak that has transformed others into creatures resembling zombies, through the United States.

Moving forward without revealing all the secrets, the second installment unfolds five years after the initial events, offering insights into Joel and Ellie’s earlier lives as they traverse a perilous world that has grown even more treacherous.

The White Lotus

In simple terms, the third installment of this widely acclaimed series has left fans excited and drawn in larger audiences due to an outstanding act by Walton Goggins.

The anthology series chronicles the stories of diverse, troubled individuals who are temporary residents at a made-up White Lotus resort.

Each season showcases an abundance of exceptional talents, such as Jennifer Coolidge taking on a pivotal role that solidifies her career, Aimee Lou Wood, Parker Posey, F Murray Abraham, Sydney Sweeney, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The seasons are filled with numerous talented individuals, including Jennifer Coolidge making a significant impact in her career, Aimee Lou Wood, Parker Posey, F Murray Abraham, Sydney Sweeney, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The White Lotus is the creation of Mike White, previously a reality TV contestant and actor who later transitioned into writing and directing. In the early stages of the pandemic, HBO executives requested a project that could be filmed in a self-contained location, adhering to Covid safety guidelines. To fulfill this request, Mike White conceived an intriguing murder mystery with a satirical twist.

The outcome, captured at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, resonated deeply with viewers longing for a vacation escape, especially one as lavish as that.

And Just Like That

In the third part, which promises fun, Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte return following two earlier seasons of “And Just Like That.

Fundamentally, And Just Like That is a continuation and successor to the series that catapulted Sarah Jessica Parker into fame, picking up a decade later from where Sex and the City 2 left off in 2010.

The show follows Carrie (Parker) and Charlotte (played by Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis respectively), as they navigate a shift from their carefree, sociable lives in their 30s, into the complexities of their 50s.

The upcoming season, airing in Australia on May 30th, offers an expansion of characters and plotlines, introducing Rosie O’Donnell as Mary, who might develop a romantic interest in Miranda.

Netflix

Sirens

Luxurious mansions, an intricate storyline, and a captivating ensemble of actors – these are the enticing elements that make Netflix’s five-episode suspense drama starring two contrasting sisters a must-watch.

In a new series titled “Sirens,” the talented actresses Meghann Fahy (from The White Lotus) and Milly Alcock (House Of The Dragon) portray siblings Devon and Simone. Additionally, the esteemed Julianne Moore stars as Michaela, who happens to be an unusually demanding boss for Simone.

The narrative begins with disheveled Devon embarking on a journey to the island complex where impeccable Simone is employed by Michaela, in an attempt to unravel the mystery surrounding his former sister. Remarkably, his arrival coincides with a particularly tense weekend.

The less said about the plot beyond that the better, including why it’s called Sirens.

As a devoted admirer, let me tell you, this series is so captivating that I truly believe the experience is enhanced by diving in yourself. But rest assured, once you take the leap, it will be more than worth it!

Black Mirror

Since its debut in 2011, this captivating anthology series created by Charlie Brooker has left audiences in awe.

Each season of Black Mirror draws inspiration from shows like The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits, featuring standalone episodes that explore a common theme: the impact of technology on society.

As a lifestyle expert, I must say that I’ve been thoroughly captivated by this thought-provoking series, which has just entered its seventh season! Each new installment continues to deliver six enthralling episodes filled with science fiction elements and engaging drama.

This production boasts star-studded lineups for each season, and the most recent addition is no different. Actors like Paul Giamatti, Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd, Awkwafina, and Jesse Plemmons have all joined the cast to captivate audiences with another six intriguing, enigmatic stories.

To fully appreciate the connections between some episodes, it’s recommended to start with Season One of Black Mirror, as there isn’t a strict ongoing storyline but certain episodes do make references to each other.

Running Point

Without a doubt, there’s plenty to appreciate in this sports-themed comedy produced by Mindy Kaling, who is well-known for her work on The Office and The Mindy Project.

In the role of Isla Gordon, Kate Hudson portrays a former high-living socialite presented with an incredible opportunity to make her mark when she’s entrusted with managing her family’s professional basketball team.

Following her brother’s involvement in a scandal, Isla takes over as president for the Los Angeles Waves, a renowned professional basketball team and a significant part of her family’s business.

In this show, Brenda Song is paired with Kate as Ali Lee, the head of staff for The Waves. Furthermore, Chet Hans, the child of renowned actor Tom Hanks, portrays Travis Bugg, a challenging basketball player for The Waves.

If you’ve enjoyed the writing style of Mindy Kaling from shows like The Mindy Project and The Office, then you can expect an absolute delight with this!
