From season 3: Does the latest Tabitha reveal make sense? Let's do the math

As a devoted fan of From, I must say that the latest twist has left me absolutely spellbound! The theory about Tabitha and Miranda sharing the same soul is as intriguing as it is mind-boggling.

Major spoilers ahead for From season 3 up to episode 9

Chapter One,” seems to suggest that Tabitha and Miranda might be one and the same person.

Tabitha’s embrace of Victor evokes a strong memory, taking us back to when Miranda bid farewell to her kids, Victor and Eloise, and ventured into the woods to reach the distant tree for an escape. Alas, the ominous figure known as “Smiley” intervened, resulting in Miranda’s tragic demise.

Although the script doesn’t explicitly state that Tabitha and Miranda are the same individual, there are strong indications suggesting this possibility. One might wonder why else would Tabitha receive a vision detailing Miranda’s last moments if not for a genuine link between them? Previously, her visions have primarily revolved around herself and her town connections. Hence, it seems plausible that she’s experiencing Miranda’s viewpoint due to their shared bond.

As a devoted admirer, let me share this intriguing detail: This story would also reveal the reason behind Henry owning a bracelet similar to the one crafted by Tabitha for Jim. You see, his connection goes back in time, as Miranda, her former self, had created an identical bracelet for Henry.

But does the math make sense? I believe it does.

Based on the premiere year of 2022, it appears that the series is set in contemporary times or possibly slightly earlier. Tabitha is estimated to be around 40 years old, while Miranda died at about 30. Victor, who has lived in town for over 40 years, is now presumed to be in his 50s. Therefore, it’s accurate to say that the timeline adds up.

If this assumption holds true, it follows logically that other characters could be reborn forms of individuals from the past. It’s possible that many people Victor knew and missed from his childhood are in town without him realizing it. Some viewers speculate that Jade, who is around 40 years old, might be a reincarnated character like Christopher. Could Donna or Boyd also fit this description? This idea challenges everything we thought we understood about the town. If Boyd is reborn, perhaps the motivation behind the monsters’ relentless torment of him becomes clearer, as they may be targeting him because of his past identity.

It’s also tough not to compare this to the show Dark, a show where virtually everyone is a different version of someone else, but that gets super complicated fast.

Hopefully we’ll get more definitive answers in the season 3 finale airing this Sunday, November 24.
